Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has announced the appointment of Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (D-VA) to the House Appropriation Committee which overseas all major spending bills in Congress.
From the Washingtonpost.com,
Wexton, who represents a huge population of federal employees in the Northern Virginia suburbs, joins the committee as the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority is in dire need of enhanced federal funding.
“We have a lot of work to do to provide robust support for a strong recovery, invest in chronically underfunded agencies and programs, and fix our country’s broken infrastructure,” she said in a statement. “I will work tirelessly on behalf of my constituents, including tens of thousands of federal workers and contractors, and be a strong voice for the priorities of the Commonwealth.”
More money thrown down the drain for the disaster that is Metro.
