Republicans in the 10th district will choose their candidate for Congress on May 21st in a firehouse primary (also called a canvass). The winner of the canvass will run against incumbent Democrat Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton who will be seeking her third term in office after winning re-election in 2020 with 56.5% of the vote over Republican Aliscia Andrews.
Times and places for the firehouse primary have not yet been determined.
Candidates running for the Republican nomination for Congress are Loudoun County School Board member John Beatty, Prince William County Supervisor Jeanine Lawson, non-profit co-founder and small business owner Caleb Max of Loudoun County, Loudoun County parent activist Brandon Michon, Army veteran Paul Kinny Lott Sr., Manassas city Councilwoman Theresa Coates Ellis, tech company manager Mike Clancy and Prince William County resident John Henley.
Under the new redistricting maps the 10th district is comprised of the counties of Loudoun, Rappahannock, Fauquier, and part of Prince William.
