UVA DEAN FUNDRAISING/CAMPAIGNING FOR DEMOCRATS ON UNIVERSITY GROUNDS: Rob Schilling has been following an important story involving a dean at the University of Virginia using her on-campus residence (UVA property) to campaign for Democrats.  University officials say its OK because they lease the property to the Dean, so University policy does not apply.  Schilling asks the pertinent question, “[W]ould UVa interpret Dean Fontaine’s lease to permit her hosting an event that discriminates on the basis of race, gender, or religion? If not, why not? University policy also prohibits these forms of discrimination.”  Somehow I think University policy would apply in that instance, don’t you?  Check out the whole article.

UVA President Teresa Sullivan runs a VERY loose ship, seeped in a ton of progressive, left wing sociological group think. OK, so supporting that political baggage to be applied daily to the administrative and educational direction of Virginia’s premier teaching center doesn’t bother you, here is something we should all be able to agree on – she demonstrates horrible leadership skills. Rebounding from one disaster after another is NOT leadership, it’s survival. She should have been gone in 2012, but as long as she is at the helm, the partisan political activities by school deans and faculty, such as the University of Virginia School of Nursing Dean, Dorrie Fontaine, will continue unabated. That is the root of the problem
