Press release
October 6, 2020 – Sterling, VA – Aliscia Andrews resoundingly won last night’s League of Women Voters 10th District Candidate Forum. From the open statement forward, Andrews was swinging and ready to differentiate herself from Rep. Wexton and her lack of leadership. The Congresswoman did what she does best, recite her talking points and follow Speaker Pelosi’s lead.
Aliscia Andrews used her opening statement to lay out the difference between her record and the Congresswoman’s, one of service and another of a career politician. She made clear that she understands and cares about the issues facing voters in Virginia’s 10th District. She pledged to fight for the vulnerable and to work across party lines to find solutions that work for this District.
Rep. Wexton claimed to support small businesses, but Andrews was quick to remind her that when businesses in this district desperately needed a second round of PPP loans, Wexton refused to break with Democrat Leadership and took a vacation.
While the Congresswoman recited talking points, Aliscia Andrews connected with voters on a personal level. As a mom and a member of this community, Andrews understands the issues voters face on a day to day basis. It was evident that she will represent the 10th District well to Washington D.C., rather than Washington D.C. to the 10th District.
“I want to thank the League of Women Voters for putting on tonight’s forum. I also want to thank all of the voters who tuned in to inform themselves before voting, and I hope I earned your vote. When I win, I will be a Representative for all voters in Virginia 10, not just for Republicans. I look forward to serving you,” said Andrews.
