Amazon.com with its new headquarters coming to Arlington has donated just under $300,000 to this year’s candidates and PAC’s, four times what the company has donated in Virginia in past years.
The largest donation made by Amazon, $25,000, was to the Virginia Senate Republican Caucus and the largest donation to an individual was $7,000 to the Speaker of the House, Kirk Cox. Is this a signal that Amazon believes Republicans will remain in control in Richmond?
Overall Amazon donated $5,000 more to Democrats than Republicans.
