The only question is how much money will be returned to taxpayers. The amount remains under debate in the state senate. Under Youngkin’s plan, single taxpayers would receive up to $300, married taxpayers up to $600. Democrats in the Senate want to reduce those amounts to $250 and $500 respectively.
â€œWe want to have the largest tax rebate in the history of Virginia,â€ Youngkin reiterated in a speech to ChamberRVA on Monday. â€œAll of these tax cuts are designed to help Virginians who need it most, to get our cost of living down, to enable Virginia to compete with the states around us who are lowering their tax burdens while we sit here and have lunch.â€
