Loudoun Circuit Court Judge James Plowman has ruled that suspended teacher Tanner Cross must be reinstated to his position as a physical education teacher in a Loudoun county elementary school. He is currently suspended from his position for remarks he made at a Loudoun School Board meeting speaking out against proposed changes in school policy regarding transgender students. Judge Plowman ruled that Cross has a right to free speech and religious freedom.

“The Court finds that the Plaintiff’s speech and religious content are central to the determination made by the Defendants to suspend Plaintiff’s employment. The Court further finds that the weight of the evidence and the totality of the circumstances, clearly show that the four prongs for issuance of temporary injunction have been satisfied,” Plowman wrote
