The incorrect decision by the Supreme Court in 1973 to make abortion legal in all 50 states will be overturned with the issue being returned to the states. The federal government will no longer be involved. The initial draft majority opinion of the Supreme Court was written by Justice Samuel Alito.
Justice Alito was joined by 4 other justices, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett in support of overturning Roe v Wade. Three justices opposed the decision, Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan. It is not known how Chief Justice John Roberts will vote or if he will issue his own opinion.
From politico.com:
The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right. “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Alito writes.
“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” he writes in the document, labeled as the “Opinion of the Court.” “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
This ruling will throw abortion back to each state to decide, with no federal protection, just like every other medical procedure. Some states have already banned the procedure, and more will follow.
No other Supreme Court opinion draft has ever been leaked. It seems the left hopes the leak can cause enough political pressure to be put on the Court to change their opinion before it becomes law. Pray for our Justices to remain safe and strong.

The leak aside, the future ruling is the best thing that has happened in a long, long time. Hallelujah!
Democrats control the State Senate, so nothing will happen in Virginia to restrict surgical abortions. Besides, 54% of abortions today are non surgical, via abortifacient drugs, and those won’t be banned — not easily due to constitutional protections on interstate commerce
This was a last ditch effort to bully the court. Whether it succeeds remains to be seen. The leak likely came from a law clerk for Kagan or Sotomayor, with their approval although I think that one of Roberts’ clerks might be the one. We will probably never know. Wait til tomorrow’s newspapers come out. Fecal material is about to hit the air mover.
I agree, it was leaked so the left would go crazy and do everything possible to stop the court from issuing this ruling that overturns Wade, sending it back to the states where it always should have been. The federal government should have no role in deciding health issues.
How do you know Brown or her people were not involved?
Does Virginia have any laws that cover this already?
If not, buckle up boys and girls ’cause its about to get HOT.
Is it correct to assume that if Virginia doesn’t have a law pertaining to abortion, then abortion is illegal?
Add abortion at the top of the vetting list for house and senate candidates next year. I’m guessing next year’s session will be dead-locked again, and so it will be the 2024 session with hopefully new delegates and senators. If they pass an abortion ban bill to Youngkin, his signing or veto will determine his higher office asssspirations.
Youngkin has made it very clear that he is pro-life from conception.
