Democrat Congresswoman Elaine Luria has announced a run in the newly configured 2nd district. She lives in Norfolk which is no longer in the 2nd district. Congressional representatives are not required to live in the district they represent.

You understand that Morgan Griffith is doing exactly the same, running in a district that does not include his home, right? Pretty common after a major redistricting. At the state level, where residence is required, some legislators quickly move. Some (I could name) simply pretend to move. 🙂
