Prince William County Chairman of the Board, and candidate for Governor, Corey Stewart, has been fired from his position as Chairman of the Trump Campaign in Virginia. His firing is effective immediately. Stewart was fired for helping to organized a rally/protest for Trump at the Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington DC.
Radio talk show host, and co-chair of Trump’s Virginia campaign, John Fredericks said Stewart was fired because he had specifically been told to not move forward with the protest.
He went ahead and went forward without our knowledge and without our approval,” Fredericks said. “We’re running a national campaign not a gubernatorial race.”
On Stewart’s Facebook today he said,
“Tons of interviews today on behalf of Mr. Trump. Then, I went to start a rebellion against GOP establishment pukes who betrayed Trump.”
That cost him his job with the Trump campaign.

UPDATE: From WUSA 9:
Dave Bossie the deputy campaign manager for Trump released the following statement on Monday:
Former Virginia State Chairman Corey Stewart is no longer affiliated with the Donald J. Trump for President campaign. He is being replaced, effective immediately. Corey made this decision when he staged a stunt in front of the RNC without the knowledge or the approval of the Trump campaign.”
Campaign Manager Kellyanne Conway added: “We have a tremendous working relationship with the RNC. Chairman Reince Priebus has been an engaged and incredibly supportive ally to Mr. Trump throughout the campaign. The Chairman and his top executives, Katie Walsh and Sean Spicer, have stood shoulder to shoulder with us as we have enhanced our field team, data operation, fundraising and ground game efforts over the past couple of months.”
Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia John Whitbeck issued the following statement:
Every day, hundreds of Republicans across Virginia are working hard to elect Donald Trump. This is a team effort. The Republican Party of Virginia, the Republican National Committee, and the Trump campaign are part of one team. While this turn of events is disappointing, I support the Trump campaign’s decision to remove their Virginia chairman. With less than a month until election day, we can’t afford any distractions.”
