Chairman of the Board in Prince William County disagrees with the recent State Central Committee vote to hold a primary next year rather than a convention. He referred to the vote as a broken promise to the grassroots. However, he’s not concerned about having to face three other candidates next year in a primary for the Republican nomination. From Fauquier.com
I stand apart as Trump’s guy,
Even before I became Trump’s campaign chairman, I stood apart as sort of a renegade conservative hawk, a firebrand,” he added. “Add that I’m now Trump’s chairman, and that just burnishes my conservative reputation.”
Stewart will be facing Ed Gillespie who already has a $1 million war chest, also running are Congressman from the First District, Rob Whitman, and state Senator Frank Wagner from Hampton Roads.
Stewart is building a grassroots following as he crisscrosses the state as the chairman of Trump’s campaign in Virginia.
Stewart is known for saying some outrageous things on social media and he promises to continue that through next year. Stewart says he is deliberately “over the edge” to attract attention. Even the Trump campaign had to distance themselves from Stewart when he said Hillary Clinton was responsible for the violence against police officers.
I’ve always done that. That’s always been my MO,” Stewart said of his penchant for forthright commentary. “I speak directly and I’m not afraid of controversy, and he media loves controversy.”
He will continue this MO against his fellow Republicans who are also running for Governor,
I’m very aggressive and if these guys think this is going to be some kind of cake walk, it ain’t,” he added. I’m going to call them out.”
Corey is nothing if not colorful and outspoken. Next year should be an interesting one in Virginia politics.

I am tired of politicians who just declare that they are for all the safe things: Metro safety, jobs for all, against cancer, etc. etc. and everyone just goes “yeah, yeah”. Being a leader is not being afraid to take a stand that is not going to go down with everyone, because it is in the greater good of the community.
Whether the outrageousness works with the traditional Republicans, IMO, is problematic. With that said, we are at a time in this country where good manners, and civil dialogue, are irrelevant. We are fighting for our literal survival as Americans against vicious anti-Christ Marxists, racists, and their useful idiots. The civil tone, and respectful attitudes of most Republicans have put us where we are today as a country and culture; on the precipice of destruction.
Corey Stewart – Godspeed!
There’s no way that strategy works here.
The road to winning VA (unfortunately) runs through NoVA now. And NoVA likes their Republicans bland, generic, and non-offensive.
And they’re certainly not interested in shaking things up or making waves. Their cushy tax-payer funded lifestyle depends on the current status quo.
I still don’t see that paying off for the Hon. Barbara Comstock.
It will for at least 1 more term, she is probably going to win in November.
After that, who knows. The 10th district is slowly committing demographic suicide and will go blue in the near future. Its inevitable.
I don’t see Barbara winning with bland. I think she’s in danger this term and I think it’s because she hasn’t connected with her constituents.
The party is working like crazy for her, even the Trump people realize that even Barbara is better than a dem.
But there is a hunger for leadership, for Barbara to do the right things the right way and yes I am stressing right!
She needs to be more like Eugene and less like Mitt.
I think that Trump will fundamentally transform the GOP and boy do we need it in the 10th!
I won’t vote for Comstock, no way.
And then what?
If you don’t like Comstock, the time to fix it was in the primary — by not opposing her, by not providing a sufficient challenger, you have said; ‘meh, she’s good enough for now.’
It was not necessary to change then, so it’s necessary not to change now.
The only sane approach is to vote for the most conservative electable and move toward a better conservative in subsequent contests.
The Chi-coma wouldn’t even give Obama a set of steps to get off Air Force One. Why does anyone think that the Chi-coms would let Hillary off Air Force One?
After all the Clintons have done for China, I’d expect a ticker tape parade in a litter carried by re-educated buddhists through Tienanmen Square!
Outrageous as Trump? I know you have now declared your support for Trump, but I see it still isn’t easy to let go. I will agree some aspects of Trump’s campaign have indeed been outrageous, but in a good way.
The article below is the best analysis I have seen this election season, and definitely worth a read, regardless of your position on the issue. A lot of buzz since its publication two days ago.
