Cruz won all three delegates spots today in Virginia’s 10th district.
Then Cruz won 14 of the 14 delegates up for grabs today in Wyoming. That gives Cruz a total of at least 24 of the 29 delegates in the state. Cruz was the only candidate to make it to Casper WY before a major snowstorm hit with up to 4 feet of snow.  Cruz addressed the crowd,
“If you don’t want to see Donald Trump as the nominee, if you don’t want to hand the general (election) to Hillary Clinton, which is what a Trump nomination does, then I ask you to please support the men and women on this slate,†Cruz said, holding up a piece of paper of 14 recommended delegates.
Twice today while campaigning in New York, Â Donald Trump complained about the delegate vote in Wyoming. Â In Syracuse he said,
“The system is rigged.”
WHNT.com highlights the differences in the campaigns in Wyoming,Â
The Cruz campaign’s grassroots organization was front and center here, with printed slates of the 14 recommended Cruz delegates on each table, a hospitality room, a table full of literature staffed by local volunteers and yellow “TED CRUZ Cruzin Cowboys†balloons placed around the convention room. Attendees here said the campaign has been in touch with them early and often via phone, and they have noticed a big social media push.
By comparison, the Trump campaign distributed a printed slate with six recommended delegates. The Trump campaign had a table with some snacks and literature, staffed by two out-of-town Trump volunteers.
Poor Donald, he just does not understand conventions and what it takes to win them. Â Good luck with that in Cleveland.Â
Meanwhile in Georgia today the Cruz team outmaneuvered Trump across the state.  Trump won Georgia with 39% of the vote but in conventions across the state it appears he’s lost most of those delegates. In Georgia’s 7th district Trump supporters were so mad at losing the delegate race they stormed out of the gathering taking the American flag with them.  (Who does that?!)  More on all of the happenings in the Georgia conventions today here.  More on the Trump supporters’ walk out here.Â

[…] A Good day for the Cruz Team […]
I voted for Cruz in the primary, Trump was my second choice.
The thing that makes me laugh is that I’m sure Trump has taken advantage of every legitimate maneuver in business during his long successful career.
Delegate rules are not going to change midstream no matter how slippery they are. If you want to change them, do it before the next go around. But stop your whining now.
So Trump has twice the vote of Cruz in the 10th, and ends up with two also ran delegates while Ted gets the gold plated ones? You better get ready for the HillBilly show for the next four years.
And to think that some people had the gall to complain about Ron Paul bus load delegates. Better never bitch again.
What a ridiculous sore loser comment. This has always been the process. The fact is a lot has changed since the March 1 primary (which was an OPEN primary – you know – the kind conservatives always rightly complain about because it lets Democrats get involved in choosing the GOP winner). Actual Republicans are now having buyer’s remorse.
Add in the fact that a lot of people who were originally for candidates who have now dropped out now back Cruz. They have a right to make a new choice based on new information. The delegate process makes this more fair – GOPers can make a choice based on new information, on actual current candidates, and they make sure it’s a REPUBLICAN choice.
How did you feel about having the CONVENTION which chose Ken Cuccinelli as the Republican governor candidate in 2013 ????
Learn how a real republic works and not mob rule. Pure ‘democracy’ gave nations people like like Hitler and Saddam Hussein. This type of process was designed by the founders to protect us from someday in the FUTURE (no, I’m not saying 2016 so let’s get that out of the way) having someone like that come to power. It’s similar to the Constitutional Convention.
How many of those votes were Democrats?
Since the convention was open to all registered voters who believe in the Republican creed (not just party members) who signed up in time, and those people voted overwhelmingly for Cruz; the implication is that Trump’s numbers are being pushed up A LOT in open primary states by Democrats trying to mess with our process.
How do I know how many were Dems? The damn party is the one who wanted an open primary. Now that the wrong guy won, they want to play by party rules. I said from the beginning that the party should be a registered process regardless of who is running.
If you don’t want to abide by the voters, and all the state’s taxpayers who paid for this cluster, then HAVE a real party with real registered voters and pay for your own party BS.
That is exactly wrong… the convention system to select delegates has been in place for a long long time and is not an attack on Trump (no matter how he wishes to believe it is). Also according to pre-existing rule, the primary votes ONLY choose who delegates vote for on the first ballot. After that, they are free to vote both their conscience.
As for Dems voting in the Republican primary… they weren’t exactly hiding it.
Reading the comments from various reports about the Georgia GOP high jinks, my guess is that there will be one heck of a lot more Dems voting in your Virginia elections very soon.
A friend of mine was at the 7th district event in Georgia (saw her on the Breitbart vid you linked), and what the Trump supporters have done to her Facebook wall (vile profanity and personal threats) is a disgrace. I can’t believe that our electorate is so debased that Trump can even be taken seriously.
For a guy who claims he is a winner, Trump sure whines about losing a lot. If Trump can’t even figure out how to win a convention, how can he defeat Hillary? I’ve been to many conventions in my life but I’ve never seen a candidate lose and just declare it’s rigged, everyone is lying and he’s been cheated. It’s bizarre!
I’m sick of the whining. Trump needs to learn about conventions or suck it up and accept that he’s going to lose them.
I remember when Trump was criticized for using bankruptcy laws to cut
his loses to creditors, and also accused of using eminent domain to
seize an old woman’s home to build a casino limousine parking. His
supporters said his use of the laws showed he was a brilliant
businessman. There was no talk of fair or unfair, though IIRC, some
players did claim Trump used his power to “rig” the game.
Maybe Trump thought he could use eminent domain to seize the nomination from dues-paying members of the Republican party?
