Latest Quinnipiac nationwide poll has Ted Cruz within 4 points of Donald Trump while 50% of American voters would be embarrassed to have Trump as President. Trump leads Republicans with 28% of the vote, Cruz follows with 24%, and Rubio has half that support, 12%. Ben Carson has 10% support and no other candidate polls over 6% with 8% of voters undecided. While half of Republican voters said they would be embarrassed to have Trump as President only 24% said they would be proud. More poll details here.

Count me among the Republicans who’d be DELIGHTED to have Trump as our President! I’d also be pretty happy with Cruz too. Most Trump supporters consider Cruz our second guy, so you may want to consider that before you denigrate us Vulgarians too much..
So maybe the 50% who’d be embarassed by Trump are Establishment pukes who support Jeb or Rubio.
Where do Cruz supporters stand? With the Establishment or against?
If nothing else, Donald Trump has thrown a monkeywrench into the establishment coronation. That alone has done more for our party than any Republican since Sarah Palin stopped the Rout of McCain!
So 74% of Republicans will be embarrassed or proud with President Trump in office — sounds about right.
