7:10 Â McAuliffe has an annoying accent and mentions he’s from NY. Â Cuccinelli talks about Haynesworth and Justice. Â Cuccinelli has endorsements from two business groups, including the largest groups.
7:15 Â McAuliffe talks about Star Enterprise and gifts. Â Yawn.
7:20 Ken has saved the taxpayers $250 million in Fairfax.  McAuliffen teamsters election money laundering.  McAuliffe was an unindicted conspirator.  Says if McA becomes Governor we will need to change the state motto from “Sic Semper Tyrannis” to “Quid pro Quo”.  McAuliffe talks about abortion and Northup Grumman.  “Mean  spirited attacks on women and gay Virginians”.  Ken says the Northrup Grumman attack is false. Says McAuliffe is telling untruths.  Ken has done more to help women than McAuliffe.  Started a program to protect women at UVA.
McAuliffe asked how he will pay for Medicaid expansion. Â He’ll set priorities and find inefficiencies and somehow find the money. Against doing away with corporate income tax. Â Education will suffer. Â Yawn.
Ken says it’s hard to find inefficiencies when you don’t know how Virginia Government works. Â Governor is not an entry level job.
McAuliffe asked how he will find the money. Â Suspend the SOLs and invest in community colleges and Medicaid expansion. Â He won’t answer the question, ‘what is the price tag’?
7:25 Â Ken, put more money into the hands of the people, lower personal and business income tax and that will increase revenues. Â NC corporate income tax half of our’s.
McAuliffe says he supported the Governor’s transportation plan. Â He wants more money into education (of course). Â Criticizing Ken for not wanting Medicaid expansion. Â We can’t lose any revenue, need more STEM courses and more teachers. Â Ken’s plan will cause Virginia to lose thousands of teachers.
7:28 Ken says he’s the only one with a jobs plan other than to just say the word jobs a lot.
McAuliffe on gun control. Â He’s for it. Â Wants schools to be safe. (Unlike the rest of us who don’t want safe schools?) Strong supporter of gun rights and he hunts. Â He wants background checks says Ken doesn’t. Â (We have background checks in Virginia).
7:30 Talks about his long time support for mental illness funding. Â VA is the best state for screening out people with mental illness from gun purchases. Â McAuliffe has an F rating from NRA, the only one of the 6 candidates with an F.
McAuliffe says without medicaid expansion we can’t do anything! Â We don’t have the money without it!
7:37 Government shut down. Â Does Ken support Cruz? Â Ken has lived here his whole life and doesn’t want a shut down. Â Ken’s budget would never do that. Â McAuliffe has said that he won’t sign a budget without Medicaid expansion and his only way to fund what he wants. Â That means he would should down VA government. Â If you like the way Washington works, you’ll like a Governor McAuliffe. Â McAuliffe won’t shut down government because he’ll be so bi-partisan. Â McAuliffe says Ken tried to defund Planned Parenthood. Â (Horrors!)
7:40 To Ken, liberal question about poor people, $32,000 a year, can’t get medicaid. Â Expanding medicaid is not the answer. Â We can move money around in medicaid if that’s a priority. Â It can work better for people in the program. Â Wants to help doctors provide care. Â Overwhelming the system we have now with more medicaid expansion is not the answer.
McAuliffe says nearly everyone wants medicaid expansion. Â The government will make medical care more efficient.
Ken says Congressman Ryan told him that they do not have the money to match the states money. Â Ken does not believe that we will get the money from the feds. Â So our budget will explode with expansion of medical care.
7:45 McAuliffe on gay marriage, he’s for it. Â Quoting the NY Times on the Northrup Grumman deal. Â Ken mentions that Gay marriage is a Constitutional Amendment that will never come to a Governor’s desk. Â He believes marriage is between one man and one woman. Â As AG he has to defend the laws of the state whether he likes them or not. Â McAuliffe thinks that he doesn’t have to do that as Governor. Â He can choose which laws he will defend.
McAuliffe talks about methane gas in SW Virginia with 2 out of state companies. Â Ken took contributions from those companies and those people didn’t get their money. Â (I have no clue and I doubt that McAuliffe does either.)
7:50 Jonnie Williams, Ken met him through the Governor. Â Ken is still fighting him for taxes. Â Ken gave the money to charity and he called for ethics reform this summer. Â He ran on ethics reform and has lead on it. Governor wouldn’t agree to a special session on ethics.
Why won’t McAuliffe release taxes? Â He says he’s done enough. Â He goes right back to Williams gifts. Â Yawn. Â Stock wasn’t disclosed and had business before the state. Â He too wants ethics reform and wants no gifts over $100.
Ken disclosed the gifts, had a press conference and turned it over to democrat prosecutor. Â Ken released 8 years of tax returns. Â McAuliffe won’t release any. Â Ken hits McAuliffe on all his shady business dealings and then wants ethics reform! Â haha
Kings Dominion law, McAuliffe won’t change that because tourism is so necessary. Â Ken brought the bill to allow local districts to decide back when he was a Senator, “Children outrank Tourism”! Â Localities should be able to decide. (McAuliffe thinks businesses outrank the educational needs of kids.)
7:55 Should Redskins change their names? Â McAuliffe says no he won’t tell any business what to do. Â Ken says he won’t ask for a name change and said RGIII should have been taken out during the Seattle game.
McAuliffe says Ken wants to ban some kinds of  birth control and shut down some women’s health clinics.  He’s ‘mainstream’, just like Warner.
Ken says Small Business and NVTC endorsed him. Â Terry has sold more Visas to China than he’s sold cars with Green Tech. Â Ken will fight for policies that grow businesses and will let people keep more of their own money. Â Limited government and strong families! Â 58,000 new jobs with Ken’s plan.
The third debate will be October 24th in Blacksburg.
