A $4 billion deal has been struck by the DC Mayor and the Washington Commanders to play at the 180 acre site of RFK stadium. The new covered stadium will hold 65,000 seats and be ready by 2030. It will take 2 years for the old stadium to be demolished.
The Commanders will contribute $2.7 billion and the city will invest $1.1 billion over the next 8 years to build the stadium as well as mixed use housing and other businesses.
