The conservative champion in the House of Delegates, Delegate Bob Marshall, has been making calls for volunteers in the 10th district to help him with a possible run for Congress. Yesterday he told me that the response has been excellent across the district. With the filing deadline looming on February 15, Delegate Marshall must soon decide if he will run.
Delegate Marshall has a consistent record of standing strong for every conservative issue in the House of Delegates. There is no conservative battle that Delegate Marshall hasn’t taken on. He is currently fighting Mark Herring’s refusal to enforce Virginia’s Marriage Amendment. Marshall sponsored the Marriage Amendment in 2006 and has now asked the Virginia bar to take action against Mark Herring for his refusal to defend the law.
Delegate Marshall is asking for help across the 10th district from conservative volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, or discuss his possible run for Congress, call him on his cell phone, 571-409-0588 or reach him at [email protected] If he receives enough volunteer support across the district he will run in the 10th district Firehouse Primary on April 26th.
(Another cause Delegate Marshall is championing here in a link from the drudgereport.com. I hope all of our delegates will support this bill.)

Hey, “Scott Weinberg,” if you do this sock puppetry again, you’ll be banned. Is Holingshead an honest man, or would he support your dishonest tactics?
Here’s the opposition research packet on Barbara Comstock

No sock puppetry. Post honestly or we will delete you.
The substance of your comments is fair game. But you can’t pretend to be a bunch of different people…just post it like a man, please.
Bob Marshall should seriously consider retiring so we don’t have to continue recording votes on his atrocious bills…he’s does more to hurt conservatism than any Democrat could ever imagine.
Bottom line: in a general election, Bob can’t win. Very bad decision to consider running at this point. Mark my words.
Tom, let me put it this way. Bob is a day late and a dollar short. These prudential decisions should have been considered months ago. At this point, his candidacy is a complete joke. His entrance is almost as misguided as Dick Black’s was. Both are great men, but let’s be honest. They think they’re gods. We need fresh horses. Are Bob and Howie running as a team?
Genuine leaders do not need to get a feel for the grassroots before making decisions. Bob is actually trying to undercut someone else because he thinks God has annointed him to be the one and only pro-life leader. Very awkward. His statement is ridiculous, if you think about it. He’s officially seriously considering a run, but wants to know about volunteers first. What a blowhard. We need fresh horses.
If Bob is “seriously considering” running for Congress, then I am seriously considering throwing up. I’m a graduate of Christendom College, and pro life, and I would never support Bob for Congress, because we cannot afford to keep losing. There’s two weeks to the filing deadline. Trust me, there are better options. And BTW, the blog states that there are no conservative issues that Bob has not tackled. This is false. I can think of several. And for him to gauge his candidacy on volunteer response, instead of conviction and leadership, is arrogant and weak. We need fresh horses.
You may have all the convictions in the world but without the support of the grassroots in the 10th district you won’t go far. Bob is attempting to gauge the support of the grassroots before tackling a run for Congress.
Looks like that person has a personal axe to grind – Marshall is a paragon of integrity and, in my opinion, the single most trustworthy individual in Virginia politics today.
He’s also a paragon of overly invasive legislation and overzealous egoism.
Running for office is a prudential call; you should ask your volunteers, friends and family for honest feedback, and that is what Bob is doing. To imply Bob is anything but a man of conviction and a leader on all important issues in Virginia simply doesn’t warrant a response.
When his own party was hiding from the public, killing pro-life bills in secret subcommittees, Bob was the first and only republican to stand up… just one example.
I’d love to hear two conservative issues Bob hasn’t tackled in his 20 years in Richmond. Seriously. And then I’d like to hear how many times you called his personal cell phone, which he puts on his website and all of his literature to let him know to tackle those issues.
“We cannot afford to keep losing” does not sound like a statement of conviction but rather the prefix to an opportunist rant about diluting the conservative message.
You need to be honest enough to admit, win or lose, Bob would be an outstanding congressman, or humble enough to know you may not have your facts straight.
