Senator Black Launches Campaign for Virginia’s 10th Congressional District
Black is the only major candidate with extensive military experience and a genuine conservative record
Virginia State Senator Richard H. Black officially launched his campaign for Congress in Virginia’s Tenth Congressional District.
“I launch this campaign at a critical juncture in our nation’s history,” Black said. “National debt is unsustainable, our economy is in crisis, our foreign policy is undefined, and Obamacare is crushing hard working families across America. I am running for Congress because I believe we need to bring solid conservative principles to Washington. I will fight to restore this great nation.”
As a member of the Virginia legislature, Black has authored several key initiatives resulting in major transportation improvements. He has also been a strong defender of the Second Amendment and is the author of Virginia’s Parental Notification Law. As a former Delegate and current Senator, Dick Black has voted against every tax increase since he has held office. He has represented roughly half of the 10th Congressional District during his years in the House and Senate.
Black pledged to fight Obamacare and the overly burdensome regulations that are crushing families across the nation. He opposes Medicaid expansion, which is designed to advance Obamacare in Virginia.
Senator Black also supports the following:
A muscular industrial energy policy which encourages the production of oil, coal, natural gas and nuclear power. He believes we must end the manipulation of subsidies and let free market principles determine what works best.
Build the Keystone pipeline and encourage exports of US coal, natural gas and petroleum.
Fight regulations that strangle the US economy, and restrain the EPA from its war on US business.
The former head of the Criminal Law Division at the Pentagon, Colonel Black has extensive military experience and received the Purple Heart Medal for being wounded in battle. As a Marine officer in Vietnam, he fought in bitter ground battles and flew 269 helicopter combat missions. After Vietnam, he put himself through law school and then joined the Army as a JAG officer. He has over 30 years of combined military experience and believes America is involved in too many wars.
“For too long, our soldiers have been led by an administration that lacks conviction or a clear foreign policy,” Black said. “We must begin bringing our troops home, and establish a more rational foreign policy.”
Senator Black will make us proud as our Congressman just has he always done while representing us in Richmond. He is a true conservative who will never vote to raise our taxes, he will vote to keep America strong and protected, and he will always support our Second Amendment rights.

It would’ve been nice if the teaser on the front page had said “Black declares candidacy” instead of Comstock vs. Black details here.

But apparently he won’t support spousal-rape victims. Dick Black said this in 2002, “I do not know how you could validly get a conviction of a husband-wife
rape, when they’re living together, sleeping in the same bed, she’s in a
nightie and so forth,” Black says. “There’s not injuries, there’s no
separation or anything.” http://www.care2.com/causes/you-cant-prosecute-spousal-rape-those-women-wear-nighties-video.html Foot-put-in-mouth. Guess he didn’t remember the Lorena Bobbitt case from 9 years earlier.
Did we Republicans learn nothing from Todd Aiken’s “legitimate rape” comment in 2012?! I pray Barbara Comstock wins the primary!
Nice try, Not Bent, but that spin doesn’t work here. http://thebullelephant.com/dick-black-victim-friendly-fire/
As you’ll see, Black actually voted FOR that bill, not against it.
There’s no spin. Look at the video. Read his own words. Will make excellent fodder for the Democrats’ soundbites. It does not matter to the low-information-voters how he voted; his own words will hang him. Republicans have to stop saying such stupid things!
I’ll agree with everything you said except the part about there being no spin. You say there’s no spin right before you say it’s excellent fodder for Dem soundbites (i.e., spin). But you’re absolutely right about Republicans needing to be much smarter about what they say and how they say it. Even though Sen. Black is being taken completely and unfairly out of context here, the damage is done.
Black is the only GA member to prosecute spousal rape.

Hey look, Ma! It’s a Republican who stands for something! Take a picture!
