Liz Cheney may be out of Congress come January but she is not “gone” No there is no singing Ding Dong the Witch is Dead. Cheney has according to Tucker Carlson amassed a pesonal fortune of $40 million while in Congress. Her father is filthy rich and then there’s the Bush connection . More important, she is now a martyr and hero for the never Trumpers and liberal media/establishment. They ignore the fact she has a solid conservative pro-Trump voting record. She will likely get a show on MSDNC or CNN, or become one of their regular talking heads. Write books. Help the Lincoln Project, or whatever “project” Bill Kristol funded that ran the despicable attack ads agvainst Hershel Walker in Georgia. While she thinks she can “restore the GOP” (to whatever that means), she is an outcast forever due to her willing participation on the 1/6 committee — first time the minority party has been denied the right to name who IT wants on a panel. The 1/6 committee is a sham; there]’s no give and take among the members. Just a show desgned to forever tarnish Trump supporters and ignore the failings of the Capitol Police and Sgt. of Arms, ignoring the Lefist destruction of property and lives in 2020. We in the GOP will be through with Trump by 2024. THe courts will handle him. We don’t need Pelosi to do it,. Cheney will no doubt be held up as an idol by the Left and never Trumpers as one who was willing to give up her seat for principle. she will likely get the Profiles in Courage Award from Harvard. However, by failing to stand up for conservatives who are canceled, and careers destrroyed; failure to speak out against the use of the government to hound and destroy enemies (like with the recent Mar a Lago raid),she and Kinsinger will be the Benedict Arnold’s of our party. We in the GOP will survive without her. But if she wants to run for president or other higher office as a Democrat, so be it.

You were so busy reveling in the pyrrhic victory of Harriet Hageman you failed to notice one passage in Liz Cheney’s concession speech — that is, the point where she described Grant’s actions at the intersection of Brock Road and Orange Plank Road following the battle in the Wilderness, before the two-week long fight at Spotsylvania Courthouse.

It was Grant’s decision at that intersection that sealed the fate of the Confederacy — not the “high tide” at Gettysburg, not the 1864-65 winter campaign, not Sherman’s march through Georgia, but that one decision at that intersection.

Five years from now no one will remember Harriet Hageman. Ditto for The Bull Elephant.
