Former Governor Doug Wilder wants Congressman Bobby Scott (D) to be appointed to fill the Senate seat that would be vacated if the Clinton/Kaine ticket prevails. Â Doug Wilder issued this statement,
“Like many people, particularly in our commonwealth, I am pleased and proud to see Tim Kaine being picked by Hillary Clinton to be her running mate. And I have many times made that known,†he said. “The reality of the times makes it necessary to consider his replacement in the United States Senate should he be elected vice president.
“Though several names have been mentioned, I would consider Bobby Scott to be that person, as deserving as any, and many would say most deserving of all. I include myself in that latter category. This would be good for the commonwealth, good for the Democratic Party, of which Bobby has been most supportive, and great for our nation. Listing those qualifications for those responsible for his appointment would be superfluous here, as they are so well thereto known.â€
A McAuliffe spokesperson said it is premature to talk about a replacement for Senator Kaine. Â If he does have the opportunity to replace Kaine in the Senate I think he will appoint himself and allow Northam to assume the Governorship, giving him a boost in his race for Governor next year. Â McAuliffe’s senate appointment would be in the Senate until November of 2017 when there would be a special election to fill the seat.

The disaster that is the Trump candidacy will end up creating unhappy consequences in Virginia and throughout the land. What idiotic statement from this gaffe machine do we need to defend, justify, or explain today?
Trump makes it so difficult. There’s a lesson here, don’t make your first run for office the Presidency. He just hasn’t had enough experience in politics and he’s not knowledgeable enough about running for office.
I don’t think that his problem is lack of experience, but a serious case of megalomania and a complete unjustified overconfidence. My 11 year old granddaughter can put together more coherent sentences than Trump.
Doug hates Bobby. This is Doug’s attempt to remain relevant.
