So now we have a President with no foreign policy experience, a Secretary of State with no foreign policy experience, and a National Security Advisor with no foreign policy experience.

Meanwhile, all three of them have close ties to Russia.

    It’s not a dream. It’s a nightmare.

It’s great. Government is going nowhere continuing to appoint members of the political class (do-nothing, glad-handing blowhards). It is much better to appoint members of the business class who have actually accomplished things in their careers.

    Meanwhile, there’s this.

Tillerson was recommended for the job by Bob Gates, James Baker, and Condolezza Rice.

All three of whom are paid consultants for Exxon.

Appointing a global business leader is the best idea anyone has had for Secretary of State in 100 years. It plays into the overarching Trump theme of “the business of government, is business.” Tillerson’s choice demonstrates this Secretary of State is going to be a doer and not a dreamer.
I’m sure you can find paid consultants among the hundreds of recommendations.

Trump told us he would drain the swamp. He didn’t tell us he would save all the slimy creatures he found there and put them into his Cabinet.

According to leaked documents provided to Germany’s Süddeutsche Zeitung and then shared with the Center for Public Integrity, President-elect Donald Trump’s choice to serve as Secretary of State is a director of an off-shore firm involved in oil and gas operations in

The documents, given by an anonymous source, reveal that ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson has been a director of the oil company’s Russian subsidiary, Exxon Neftegas, since 1998 — based in the corporate tax-haven of the Bahamas.

While it was known that Tillerson was named president of Exxon Neftegas that same year, his position as a director on a board with other members based in Moscow and in Sakhalin was not previously known.

According to the documents, Exxon Neftegas managed a major oil and gas project near the island of Sakhalin in Russia’s Far East. Following Tillerson’s promotion to CEO,
ExxonMobil began a partnership with Russian state-owned company Rosneft to expand oil exploration.

Companies base their operation in the Bahamas due to a corporate tax rate of zero and its reluctance to share financial information and tax data.

Great. A tax cheat as President, another one as SECSTATE . . . what about the rest of the slimeballs?
