Jeanine,
It makes sense. Hager’s son is married to one of GW Bush daughters.
Failed columnist Jeanine Martin, a supposed Republican who made an attempt at “humor” and missed the mark, delivers lame deflections about others lack of perception……….Now I get it, that is funny.
Honestly, Jeanine, I went back and re-read this post several times trying to find the humor you mentioned. I just don’t get it. Can you tell me what was funny about it? And these other posters here who obviously think of these men as RINOs don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. And I’m damned sick of that term anyway. Anyone they want to denigrate they throw that term out. Obviously, having very little intellect gives you a pass on being a RINO.
Of course RINOs hate the term. I understand. Meanwhile our party is purging conservatives. Go figure.
I’m really tired of RINOs being good, nice, personable people. Can we all agree that a criteria for being a politician is to be a nice person. These “nice” persons have contributed substantially for over the last 50 years to put this country into the mess it is currently in. I’m sure Comstock, Rigell, and Hurt are nice people, but their Conservative voting records are all “Ds” and “Fs”. It is their voting record stupid and the lack of accountability engineered into the Republican Party, not their niceness factor!
I know both Jerry and John. NEITHER one is a failed politician. Jerry Kilgore served honorably as Virginia’s Attorney General and is a highly respected attorney. John Hagar is one of the bravest men I’ve ever known. He has worked unrelentingly in politics his adult life, despite being stricken with polio by changing his little baby’s diaper, who had just had his polio vaccination. He runs in wheelchair races, inspiring everyone. He serves in many community and charitable institutions, giving freely of his time. He served honorably as Virginia’s Lt. Governor and as Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia. I am so proud to call both of them my friends. You have done a disservice to them, Jeanine.
Yes, I’m sure they are wonderful people. The post was meant to be humorous. Sorry if it offended you. It’s so easy to offend these days and so difficult to laugh.
Didn’t strike me as humorous. What kind of humor were you going for?
If you don’t get it, you don’t get it. I understand. Sometimes humor is difficult online.
John Hager is one of the greatest human beings I know, Jeanine.
That is totally undeserved.
Apparently you and others have misplaced your sense of humor.
A former AG and LG are supporting a former Governor from another state. The former LG happens to have a DoL with the maiden name Bush…. Oh I get it!…No..I don’t get it.
Don’t worry about it. It’s not that big a deal.
Yes, it is a big deal.
For you, apparently it is.
I think even the establishment has figured out that Jeb is done and they are shifting to Rubio.
Yester-years’ has-beens ballyhooing the latest, TIRED &.failed RINO. Pathetic. Really, is this what the Establishnent has sunk to?!
