Fairfax County Public Schools: Where Anti-Semitism is Awarded, but Break Dancing is Banned

written by Guest Contributor John Guevara April 8, 2019

How ridiculously stupid are things getting in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) these days? Well, if you’re paying any attention you’d know that the overwhelmingly Democratic school board has not apologized to the Jewish community for allowing a student to display anti-Semitic “art” in our school system. Yes, you read that correctly. FCPS is OK with offending our Jewish neighbors. But wait, why stop there? Our illustrious school board not only allows students to draw anti-Semitic material, they also reward it! Again, you don’t need to adjust your screen, everything you’ve just read is happening here in Fairfax County.

But if that’s not enough to draw your ire and make you vote Republican between now and eternity I just learned that our risk-averse school board has banned break dancing! Yes, that break dancing. The cool, acrobatic, expressive dance that was born in Bronx, NY, circa 1970, and which your humble author partook of in the 80s is not allowed on FCPS grounds.  (Don’t judge me, break dancing was, is, and will always be cool. Besides, don’t tell me you’ve never tried doing the arm wave!)

For some crazy, snowflake reason break dancing isn’t allowed in Fairfax public schools because it’s too much of a liability. Wait, what? I guess it’s ok to knock each other senseless on football fields but students dancing to cool hip-hop music – an emblem of modern American culture –  is way too dangerous for our confused school board? Please explain that to me? Maybe break dancing would be allowed if students danced to anti-Semitic music? Heck, they may even win a prize!

In all seriousness, Fairfax, we have a huge problem in our County. We are in a world of danger, not because we ban a type of dance, but rather because our elected school board members no longer know or care to know the difference between right and wrong, good and bad. Our school board, which is responsible for more than 50% of our annual County budget, no longer represents you, and I dare say, have stopped representing you a very long time ago. When our elected officials unapologetically harken back to the days of rampant and accepted anti-Semitism you know we are in trouble.

This year, all twelve school board seats are on the ballot and ultra-leftist, Ryan McElveen, school board Member-at-Large, is thumbing his nose at conservative Fairfax residents by running for Fairfax Chairman Board of Supervisors. Ryan does not want you to know that as a school board member he has been an advocate of sanctuary cities, radical transgender policies, immoral sexual education for our children, and yes, the Green New Deal. But he’s not alone. There are other school board members who think and vote like him and for the sake of our children they all need to go!

This year, once again, you have a choice to end this foolishness. Yes, you. You who goes to church every Sunday, and through the sermon recognizes that our County and nation are in great spiritual peril. You who knows that our children are being taught values that run contrary to nature and basic human decency. You who knows that government is for the people, by the people, and of the people – power rests in our hands, not in government. Your vote is the firewall and you must end this era of foolishness.

I challenge you today to become involved by supporting school board members candidates who embody values that are moral, decent, and will hold high our pursuit of justice and liberty.
