Farmer Martha Boneta to Host Liberty Farm Festival

written by Jeanine Martin August 9, 2016

Martha Boneta is known nationwide as a farmer who has fiercely defended farmer’s rights and all property rights.  Since the bought her property ten years ago in Fauquier county, named Liberty Farm, she has been endlessly harassed by the unelected group, Piedmont Environmental Council. Neighbors who want her property have also done everything possible to prevent her from farming her own land. We previously reported on some of what Boneta has been subjected to here and here.

Despite what she has been through, Boneta remains optimistic and upbeat, always a supporter of farmers and conservative causes. She speaks to groups across Virginia and the nation. She is now opening her beautiful Liberty Farm on September 10th, from noon until 6:00, for a Farm Festival.  There will have plenty to do for adults and children, including Barbecue, Blue Grass music, and local beer and wine. Children can enjoy hayrides, picking out pumpkins, face painting, games, and bounce inflatables.

Of course politicians will be in attendance.  All of the candidates for our statewide offices in 2017 will be there, including the candidates for Governor, Ed Gillespie, Corey Stewart and Congressman Rob Wittman. The candidates for Attorney General, Delegate Rob Bell and John Adams will also attend.  Lt. Governor candidates, Jill Vogel and Bryce Reeves  are also expected.  Conservative stalwart Ken Cuccinelli will also be there. Martha Boneta has invited everyone to come and enjoy the farm, regardless of political affiliation, adding,

Our family farmers need elected officials that support our local food economy. Farmers markets and farm-to-consumer sales are in high demand … We invite the public to come and experience the harvest, go for [a] hayride, pick a pumpkin, listen to speakers, learn about our farm and celebrate the glory of Virginia’s agricultural heritage.”

Tickets are very reasonably priced, $20 for adults if purchased prior to the event, and $25 for tickets at the event.  Children under 10 are admitted free. More information and to purchase tickets, here.

All proceeds from the event will go to Liberty Hall Livestock Rescue and Operation Restored Warriors.

The Bull Elephant is proud to be a sponsor of this wonderful event and we look forward to seeing all of you there!
