Americans for Responsible Solutions, an anti-Second Amendment PAC formed by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, is investing large amounts of money in the 10th district as Barbara Comstock’s race has tightened. Â Comstock has become a target of this PAC because of her strong support, and strong voting record, for our Second Amendment rights.
The PAC is investing over $230,000 in 2A ads across the country in key battleground areas where they feel gun violence is a major issue. (Since that’s not a major issue in the 10th district one wonders why they are targeting the district other than they think they might be able to put an anti gun representative in Congress.)
From the AugustaFreePress,
“The Vocal Majority of Americans support closing loopholes in our gun laws to help keep firearms out of the hands of people who shouldn’t have them,†said ARS PAC Executive Director Peter Ambler. “Champions for the Vocal Majority are running in races up and down the ballot and voters deserve to know who will be their voice for commonsense gun safety laws, who will stand up to the gun lobby, and who will not. Voters are sick and tired of Congress failing to act – it’s time our lawmakers put voters first, not the gun lobby.â€
“Gun violence has become one of the most potent issues in House races across the country, particularly in these districts where gun violence prevention is a top-of-mind issue for voters whose current representatives have voted in lockstep with the gun lobby,†said Jeb Fain, Communications Director of House Majority PAC. “It’s clear that voters want to elect candidates who are champions for gun violence prevention, will work to pass commonsense gun safety measures, and bring real change to Congress that will save lives.â€
To help promote her anti 2A agenda Gabby Giffords was in Loudoun last week working with the Clinton campaign. More on that story here.Â
It appears this anti Second Amendment group is targeting Congresswoman Comstock because she has been a consist, strong, vote for Second Amendment laws and issues.
You can read more about this PAC against Comstock in a very biased article here.Â
