In Virginia the chance of a White Christmas is fairly low, less than a 25% chance for most the state. Historically the chances of a White Christmas in the US look like this:
Another historical map for snowfall chances on Christmas from Weather.com:
It’s not looking good for Virginians to be able to enjoy a White Christmas. The weather forecast is not helping to increase those odds, accuweather.com says temperatures in our part of the east will be in the 40’s on Christmas day.
For those who are interested in overall snowfall for this winter, a map from virginiaweathernetwork.com.
Lovely. I’m in the red zone. Lots of snow, just not on Christmas.

This “White Christmas” thing is so nordic. Much of the Christian world celebrates Christmas without everything being blanketed with snow. Christ was supposedly born in Israel, although it does occasionally snow in the Northern part, it is not that common. And there weren’t any Reindeer. We live in the South. Sort of. Fairfax Co. and DC can’t clear it, and even if it is Xmas, it will mess up things for a couple of days. Forggettaboutit!
You’re a downer.

The sun is quiet. I am going for a white Christmas.
I think you’re thinking of night.
Quiet sun = declining solar activity = global cooling
