The Center for Immigration Studies has examined census date for the years 2014 and 2015 and found a large uptick in legal and illegal immigration, 39% increase over the previous two years. Findings from the Center for Immigration Studies:
– New data collected by the Census Bureau shows that 3.1 million new immigrants (legal and illegal) settled in the country in 2014 and 2015, or more than 1.5 million annually.
– In 2012 and 2013, 2.3 million immigrants arrived, about 1.1 million annually. In 2010 and 2011, 2.1 million new immigrants arrived, about one million annually.
– All of the above numbers are based on publicly available information in Census Bureau data; no adjustments have been made for those missed by the bureau. But even without adjusting for undercount, the scale of new immigration is enormous.
– The big increase in new arrivals in the last two years was driven by a rise in immigration from Latin America, particularly countries other than Mexico; South Asia (e.g. Pakistan and India); and East Asia (e.g. China and Vietnam).
– Our preliminary estimate is that, of the 3.1 million immigrants who arrived in that last two years, about one-third, 1.1 million (or 550,000 annually) were new illegal immigrants, a significant increase from the 700,000 illegal immigrants (350,000 annually) who entered in 2012 and 2013.
– The above estimate of illegal immigration represents the flow of new illegal aliens surreptitiously crossing the border, overstaying a temporary visa, or released into the country after a short detention, such as families from Central America. The numbers do not represent the net increase in the total illegal immigrant population.
– The available evidence also indicates that the number of new legal immigrants, both temporary and permanent, arriving from abroad has increased. Our best estimate is that the arrival of legal immigrants increased about 30 percent, from 1.6 million in 2012-2013 to two million in 2014-2015.

[…] Immigration surges over the last two years […]
Did you all notice that the Bush years saw far more Mexican immigrants than the Obama years?
I’m no Obama fan, but that kind of “dents” the theroy that has plauged us for quite a while, IMHO.
Of course you aren’t. Thanks for the ponderous thoughts. What is this particular technique called?
Do you follow everyone around just to be a jackass, or am I that special?
This is a Conservativish Republicanish Blog focused on the 10th Congressional District — You are not similarly affiliated. And you’re not much of a peacemaker.
You are being an agent of sedition and discord, I’m just trying to learn how you’re being compensated.
I am a Conservative Republican jackass in the 10th District (although more noble steed than jackass as the story goes.)
I do not get paid for posting on blogs. My personal opinion on stories I find interesting is just that, my opinion. You have no clue how I am “affiliated”.
I’m not surprised you would think I am being an “agent of sedition and discord”, even though in the past I have donated hundreds of hours working on Republican campaigns and for the local committee. I doubt you attempt to understand any opinion that does not match your own.
For whatever reason, you do nothing but throw around perceived insults, and there is not one thing “noble” about that.
Jeez, let me help you out here:
“I do not get paid for posting on blogs” = (a) I get paid for doing something else, the blogposting is just a side benefit or (b) part of another hat I wear or role I play or (c) something else.
“You have no clue how I am “affiliated” = (a) This is anonymous, my patron and my political activities should have been masked (b) I am using the right accounts for this operation right? or (c) something else.
“I’m not surprised you would think…” = Not objecting to the accusation, just expressing an assumption and projected discern.
“Even though in the past I have donated hundreds of hours on Republican campaigns and for the local committee” = Not recently nor currently. Not a TBE 10th local committee.
Throw in some attacks, accusations, etc. You know we do know about your alinsky tactics and progressive sophistry. So what’s your agenda here anyway?
You’re not a Conservative, not a Republican and not of the 10th. Perhaps you’re just anti-Cuccinelli and the enemy of my enemy is my friend? A bitter Cantorite? Government worker? Consultant Class? Is a puzzlement!
While you are correct, this is a statewide blog although I tend to have more focus on the 10th district because I live in the district. Other posters live in various parts of the state.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but you like us best because we’re the home team! Most of the time I figured the ‘out of 10th’ stuff is just to show us that we’re not the tippy-top of the crazy tree.
It really is too difficult trying to keep track of all the undocumented Republicans and GOP exiles/castaways from around the commonwealth. AND, all my inside baseball references are wasted upon those who aren’t with us amongst the branches of the 10th.
Any way we can have our own private 10th TBE? I don’t want to share our ‘Raccoons are Bad’ gems with the rest of the state.
Down goes our paychecks.
Yes. People on the bottom of the economic ladder are hurt the most but more competition in jobs lowers salaries in all fields.
Half of a story
1. Nobody wants to do the jobs they do.
2. Americans are too worried about personal time and not on raising families — if it wasn’t for immigrants, our two-kid, me-first crybaby society would be in unstoppable population decline. See this graphic for reference https://www.census.gov/hhes/families/files/graphics/FM-3.pdf
It always gets my attention these days when I see words like “nobody” and “unstoppable”.
1)Where do we come up with 2-3 million new jobs every year?
2) If these 2-3 million people do not have jobs, where do they get money to live?
3) Where do these 2-3 million people get health care?
Glad those claims have your attention — because they are true.
So, elected officials do not like their jobs? Is that why they never retire? All the people I know who are over 65, and refuse to retire hate their jobs?
I hear your frustration…Reinhardt… or whoever you are. You’re about to explode with frustration and betrayal. Like most conservatives. And rightly so. Our ship of state is headed for the rocks and it doesn’t answer the helm.
Which make it Imperative that we identify the true issues and fight over them. Want to fight over phantom issues? When politicals tap into our fear, we become their pawns. We can’t afford that.
Want to know what ALL elected politicians, including Tea Party Conservatives, did during the government shutdown? They raised campaign funds 5 days a week instead of 3. Hey went everywhere, convincing donors that the barbarians were at the gate, and only he reelection of (fill in your favorite legislator here) would prevent disaster. They all did it, and they had a record take, because they had donors scared.
You had a great point about length of stay in office. As terms have lengthened, accountability to voters has gone down, and governance has become brinksmanship.
But the immigrant thing? Please, please, Please can we let it go? Ms. Martin’s “significant” increases in illegal immigration are in fact a rebound after an enormous decline when the economy tanked.
Next, somebody will probably mention the imminent threat from ISIS extremists sneaking in with immigrants. I laugh at that one. Here we are, 300 million Americans who own 300 million legal firearms. We have a 240 year tradition of kicking the crap out of anybody who tries to take us on. We waive flags, reenact battles, and celebrate our toughness. We watch mixed martial arts with growing boredim. But let us mention the chance of one knife-wielding-old-woman-killer and we turn to jelly? Please!
We need to stop letting them bait us away from the real topics by telling us monster stories. This monster story is at the top of the list.
You nailed it. But fear causes people to be totally irrational. Convince a group of voters “the world is ending” and they’ll vote for anyone they PERCEIVE will halt the false decline.
Education, on the other hand can reverse that…if the fear mongers don’t successfully discredit a legitimate source.
And another.
Illegal immigration is a real topic you idiot. Are you a conservative? You are getting swamped by the tens of millions of illegals that the Democrats are encouraging with the aid of moron GOP dopes like you. Soon you are going to be drowned in a sea of third world voters who will vote in socialism. Do you pea brain think that Obama for one minute doesn’t know what he is doing?
Will a conservative win in California ever again? NO you moron. That is the rest of the country. You can’t even win Virginia anymore if the Democrats get the rising tide of their voters out.
And this surge is not because of any enormous rebound from a decline… there wasn’t any enormous decline… that was press bullshit to cover Obama’ butt like usual. The surge is because Obama has told the world that he isn’t enforcing immigration laws…
Don’t worry you pea brain… we’ll have plenty of population soon.
Please. Use your big kid name, not your pretend name. We’ll go from there.
Yeah whatever. You managed to serve up so much bullshit that this comment section is floating in it. Next you are going to say Obama deported more people than ever!!! How about… our economy needs illegal immigration to grow! Illegals don’t vote or use welfare services!! Illegals pay zillions in taxes that they don’t get back…
I’m not going to say Obama deported more illegals than ever…
They’re going to say it
http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2014/10/02/u-s-deportations-of-immigrants-reach-record-high-in-2013/
And they are too
https://www.dhs.gov/yearbook-immigration-statistics
And even they are

And if you don’t believe anything, go talk to an ICE agent or two. I have.
Dem/lib trolls, awfully concerned about identifying identities. They seem to work in pairs, typical agitprop. Note the post pattern, expect editing, running, hiding.

Not quite accurate. 1. Nobody wants to do the jobs they do AT THAT WAGE. We’re the immigrants not here those jobs would be be forced to pay more and give the jobs to American citizens. They suppress wages and take jobs from citizens. 2. Yes, we should be encouraging Americans to have larger families but the left has frowned on that for decades. Large families are laughed at and made fun of and accused of over populating the earth.
Partly agree, Jeanine. Reference my farm strike story in the piece I submitted last month. My fellow Americans could not hack the back breaking work at any wage. Saw it with my own kid eyes.
On other jobs in the service and construction industries, they do increase the supply, allowing employers to cut wages. So yes I blame illegals for entering unlawfully, but at least sympathize because of the lives they are trying to escape. Now about those employers who willingly employ illegals at cut rates? No sympathy (BTW Trump employs illegals at his hotels)
There’s a wicked twist here — the parties’ support for or opposition to illegals is based not on political philosophy but on the desires of primary campaign donors. Liberals rely on labor unions, which want people to be scarce and at a premium. So liberals talk lots of talk about letting immigrants in, but they also vote for border walls (see Feinstein and Barbara Boxer voted for the first steel wall in California.) It’s also why the Obama administration has set new records for speed and quantity of deportations.
On the other hand, Republicans publicly appeal to voters who fear the foreign tide, but GOP campaign coffers are filled by corporations that rely on cheap labor. Republicans were staunchly against the border walls as they went up.
I’m sure the trolls will dispute this (or question my citizenship, party affiliation, patriotism, and/or military record) but the votes are in the Congressional Record and the others I can provide references as well.
Follow the money and it all makes sense, right?
