On Wednesday former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore filed his paperwork to run for President. We now have 17 Republican candidates for President. Governor Gilmore was kind enough to grant me this interview following his announcement. Gilmore is a smart guy with some good ideas for leading our country. It’s worth a listen.

Out of the 17 Republican Presidential candidates only three have any type of military experience; Lindsay Graham, Rick Perry and, now, Jim Gilmore.
Jim Gilmore was both a Military Intelligence Officer, and later chaired the Congressional Advisory Panel to Assess Domestic Capabilities for Terrorism Involving Weapons of Mass Destruction
With how #*&% up the Obama / Clinton / Kerry foreign policy has been having someone in this race who knows which end of a gun to shoot from might be a good thing.
I read somewhere Jimmy McMillian is facing eviction in New York City after losing his housing law suit, so I won’t be surprised to see the perennial political candidate who founded the “Rent is Too Damn High Party” back on the stump for a potential 2016 presidential run. With Gilmore that would make eighteen and my bet is McMillian would out perform him on any popular vote. People – they are rooting on Gilmore at the RNC and DNC, one more talking head, with no remote chance to do anything other then siphon off a few critical votes in a key Virginia presidential primary. Doesn’t anyone remember the 2012 fiasico? Herman Cain checks in early polling the support of 27 percent of Republican voters, mid cycle Newt Gingrich rises to front-runner status after winning the SC and Florida primaries, followed by Rick Santorum’s late surge and collaspe, removing all non establishment options from contention and a path for Mitt Romney, a candidate whose positions and actions gave Obama a second term with the accompanying disastrous resultscrystal. The establishment’s presidential primary strategy has always been crystal clear – Divide and Conquer in the early rounds, splinter the base vote and effectively walk their candidate on stage as the “only” viable final option. Expect the same this year and if we don’t smarten up EXPECT the same results substituting in Jeb Bush for Mitt Romney and Hillary Clinton for Barack Obama. I’m sure former Governor Gilmore is a perfectly reasonable gentleman, but if he has some points to make he has media access and doesn’t need to try and elbow his way onto an already crowded presidential debate stage to do so. There are a lot of good candidates this primary season but there aren’t a lot of good candidates that have the money, organization and savy to WIN. We need to hold a reasonable debate on who those are and place lazer support focus on them. Don’t expect the RNC to be of any assistance in this effort, after all this is business as usual. Frist recommended step, thank you very much Jim Gilmore but please GO AWAY!
