Jennifer Wexton, rated the #1 most left wing state senator of Virginia this year, wants to lead “the resistance” in Congress. This apparently means continuing to be a “no show” at local 10th District widely attended events, (previously documented here), while hanging out with her fellow “resistance” left wingers at private events.
Exhibit A: This week, Wexton held a private get together with a left-wing New York Senator, Kristen Gillibrand, from one of the highest taxed states in the country. Like Gillibrand, Wexton wants to raise taxes across the board on businesses and families and wants to repeal the 2017 tax cuts. Like Gillibrand, Wexton supports eliminating “right to work” laws that make Virginia a job friendly environment. Like Gillibrand, Wexton is getting millions from left wing sources across the county.
Since when is Virginia’s 10th District longing to be New York?!
Don’t count on Wexton getting in touch with Virginia 10th – 18 months in and she hasn’t acquainted herself with many of the areas of the district or the diverse communities that make up the 10th.
The List Of Wexton No Shows Continues…
“National Night Out”. This is a big, major no show — Jennifer Wexton, who featured fake cops in her TV ad, was a no show for National Night Out – not a single one of the dozen or more throughout the 10th District – not even her home location in Leesburg. She couldn’t be bothered to show up at this annual event with real law enforcement and the communities she wants to represent. On August 7th, the 35th anniversary of “National Night Out” – Rep. Comstock was at 3 National Night Out events – one with the Loudoun County Sheriff — while her staff was represented at another 10 or so throughout the District.
Clarke County Fair. Wexton has continued her snub to the rural and Western part of the District and was a no show at the fair that went on for a week. Clarke County Democrats, whose tent was next to the Republican tent, were heard grumbling and not happy about the Wexton no show and discouraged by the strong Comstock showing. (Wexton skipped the Loudoun County Fair also). Rep. Comstock always attends this fair and has staff there to engage with the community.
Prince William County Fair. Another no show for Wexton. Republicans and Rep. Comstock were represented. Democrats didn’t even have a booth or presence.
Pakistan Independence Day Community Celebration. While Rep. Comstock spoke to the large crowd and had a booth engaging with the community and joining their celebration – Wexton was a no show and there was no Democrat booth.
India Cultural Coordination Committee and Celebration of Indian Independence Day. This recent event featured Rep. Comstock, State Senator Dick Black, and Democrat Delegate David Reid addressing the celebration and joining in the festivities – but a no show for Wexton.
The National Council of Asian Indian Associations Banquet Dinner for the Celebration of India’s Independence Day. This was a major event that both Democrats and Republicans attended: Senator Tim Kaine, a representative for Mark Warner, and Delegates Mark Keam and Kathleen Murphy attended this event, along with Congresswoman Barbara Comstock, Supervisor Pat Herrity, Senator Dick Black, and Councilman Sang Yi. Any guess who was the no show at this event which had a full house of local Indian-American leaders? Again, even Democrats were taking note.
So much RESISTANCE, and so little time for the 10th from Jennifer Wexton! Even Democrats are grumbling about Wexton’s no shows.
