Republican candidate for senate in the 33rd district, John Whitebeck, has a new ad that describes well his opponents Democrat Jennifer Wexton and independent Joe May. There’s not a dime’s worth of difference between his two opponents but John Whitbeck offers a clear choice in this election, a choice against higher taxes and expansion of Obamacare into Virginia.

Does May actually want to win? Because if he does this will help him somewhat. He’ll own the liberal label. ( this is a 59% Obama district after all)
But if he turns around and starts saying “I’m a ‘common sense’ conservative” then you’ll know his only reason getting into the race was to be a spoiler.
Joe May is running to the left of the democrat? That’s his path to victory? He’s the most liberal candidate? That will be a tough sell to many democrats in Loudoun since Joe May has claimed to be a republican, and voted with the caucus, for 20 years in the House of Delegates.
I didn’t say he was running to the Left. His pathway to victory is staying in the Centre Left and convincing most Ds in this district that Wexton is an extremist. While at the same time pealing off some of Whitbeck’s Republican votes.
Good ad. Thanks, Jeanine.
It frosts me that both of these individuals are indulging in “rent a futon” in order to qualify. Disgraceful. John Whitbeck is a resident of the 33rd and is running to actually represent the people eligible to vote.
