The nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates has announced that Gary Johnson will not participate in the first Presidential debate on September 26th. The Commission requires candidates to have reached 15% in five Presidential surveys. Neither the Libertarian party or the Green Party reached that threshold. The Commission made this announcement on Friday.
Only Clinton and Trump will be in the first debate and only Senator Tim Kaine and Governor Mike Pence will be in the second debate at Longwood University on October 4th.
In the five polls the commission selected Clinton lead with an average of 43% to 40.4% for Trump, 8.4% for Johnson and 3.2% for Stein. The five polls used were ABC-Washington Post; CBS-New York Times; CNN-Opinion Research Corporation; Fox News; and NBC-Wall Street Journal.

Am glad they didn’t make it as it would clutter up the differences. Now both Hillary and Trump will be directly accountable for their words. Although, she starts with the advantage of moderators in the tank, questions in advance, and advisors in her earpiece.
How do you know that?
It depends on whether she looks Photoshopped or not at the debate.
Past performance
So did all these candidates qualify for all the state ballots?
Gary Johnson says he’s on the ballot in all 50 states, http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/2016-09-14/gary-johnson-claims-says-he-has-made-the-ballot-in-every-state Jill Stein has not yet made the ballot in all states, http://www.snopes.com/green-party-state-ballots/
Then Johnson should have been included if he put together a team good enough to get him on all state ballots. Especially since so many people are wishing he was THEIR party’s candidate. But of course debates are really about exclusion, not inclusion.
Meritocratic Democracy, only Republicans and Democrats are it. Everyone else can just sit.
If so many were wishing, he would have polled differently.
There is a reason Libertarians never get elected, and it’s not because they don’t know Aleppo from a hole in the ground.
With those polling organizations in charge, I am surprised Trump made it. Hillary should be debating herself – to be or not to be
