Yesterday Senator Dick Black (VA13) called on FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe to resign because of his conflict of interest when investigating the Clinton email scandal as the Democrats and McAuliffe were funding large amounts of money to his wife’s campaign for Virginia Senate. Dr. Jill McCabe ran against Senator Black in 2015. McCabe took in $1.6, just under twice what Senator Black raised. Much of the money came from McAuliffe’s PAC.
Governor McAuliffe has dismissed the WSJ article siting the conflict of interest, blaming it on “the silly season”
Republican Party of Virginia John Whitbeck does not find this conflict of interest silly. He responded by issuing a FOIA request to the Governor:
“Hillary Clinton and Terry McAuliffe have a long history of ethically suspect, self-serving relationships. Today’s Wall Street Journal story brings one more of them to light. As Democrats attempt to sweep this scandal under the rug, it’s important to remember that Terry McAuliffe cleared the field for Dr. McCabe – a political neophyte who had never run for office before.”
“Terry McAuliffe is many things, but stupid isn’t one of them. Given the chance to put a few favors in the bank at the FBI for Clinton Inc., Governor McAuliffe jumped at the chance. The fact that both he and Hillary Clinton fell under FBI investigation proves just what a wise investment this was.”
“Today, at my direction, the Republican Party of Virginia is filing a Freedom of Information Act request with Governor McAuliffe’s office for any and all communications related to Dr. Jill McCabe’s 2015 campaign for state Senate. While the Governor’s PAC is not a public organization, we also call on Terry McAuliffe to release any and all emails to and from that organization related to Dr. McCabe’s campaign.”
“Given his history, Governor McAuliffe simply has no credibility when it comes to scandals like this. If he wants Virginians to believe that he wasn’t buying a reprieve for himself and Hillary Clinton, he should be willing to prove it.”

I think this is the reason the Hillary emails just got reopened.
Finally, McAuliffe does something good!
Does anyone really believe that the Justice Department will spend one second in pursuing any possible criminal transgressions that a FOIA might point too or that the FOIA process itself under the Obama administration would turnover any self incriminating evidence that could impact the Democratic Party or Hillary Clinton?
That is the problem with systemic political corruption, that both political parties have allowed to fester and expand, without largely a peep of protest. Once it reaches a critical mass it simply expands out of the control of those that have employed it for their always proclaimed self-righteous ends, it’s not something you end up being able to control, as it will consume the perpetrators right along with the innocent.
How do you call upon a legal system that has been corrupted to “heal itself”? That is the historical conundrum we are facing and while I understand the individuals that still want to believe that pulling on the levers of a broken, corrupted machine that in the past has worked effectively can be a reasonable reflex action we may be doing nothing more then pushing buttons on a process connected to nothing. What political candidate in either party has recently or will be in the near term running for office with political corruption a major or even minor policy topic of their reelection platform? The answer is none.
As we move more and more to a de facto governing model based on a corrupted oligarchy at some point even the reflex to search for some truths via FOIA like requests will just wither away. I truly hope I proven wrong in this attempt but I expect this will all come to nothing. How is this allowed to continue? Because many don’t believe what is happening before their eyes, others cling if we just “go back” things will be OK and more then we would like to admit are just fine with the process and it’s outcomes. To fix this is going to take a Herculean effort not only in the political realm but in the cultural as well.
“The answer is none besides “you know who”.”
And, for now, we have no other answer.
Help us Obi-Trump, you’re our only hope.
The saddest part of this?
You’d think the FBI would take care of this, but they are corrupt. Maybe their DOJ parent? Nope, they are corrupt too. The President. Bah-hah-hah. So, then you think a state official could handle it. But the Governor himself is corrupt. Ditto the state Attorney General.
That leaves it to the House of Delegates and the State Senate. If anything will come of it, it will come from them. After seeing how they do nothing to remove a clearly derelict Attorney General, there is little hope there.
So much corruption, so few cajones.
We have no one representing the people. No one looking out for our interests.
Lock HIM up! Lock him up! Lock him up!
