Finally got to shake Dave Brat’s hand at the Va War Memorial on Monday. First-class Rep, and I’m glad I’m still in the 7th CD
Thank the “Republicans” in the VA GA who refused to use their majorities to draw their own lines.
Why is it that we don’t maintain the 10,000 voter Congressional Districts? Sure we might have a larger House, but they could Telework and it would be harder to buy off a few thousand than 435.
Unfortunately my home town of Winchester is still in the 10th CD, which means for now we’re still stuck with that horrible liberal Comstock…lowest CR rating of any Republican in the VA delegation. Oh well, there is an election coming up and there’s always next time.
I bet you’d have just loved John Faust then. Idiot.
Why am I an idiot for expressing an honest opinion in an open forum? That is exactly how lefties like you work…. always just so much smarter than people who are more conservative than you and can’t abide somebody with a different view than your own. And no, I seriously doubt John Foust’s actual voting record could have been significantly worse than Comstock’s- she’d rate liberal even for a Democrat, which she evidently really is at heart. The only thing she offers is one more head to count towards a Republican majority in the House, which is the only reason I can think of to vote for her- good enough for this cycle, but long term? Not so much.
There was a time when trolls hid under bridges and ate children. Now, they hang out in forums like this and show what jerks they can be on a regular basis.
Yes, almost as if there was concerted effort for mischief, agitation and GOP voter suppression. There’s probably a Soros-funded app for that. The good news is the only ones falling for it are the more-bark-than-bite TP’ers and the logic-devoid so-called ‘Constitutional Conservatives’ (like compassionate, intentionally vague, ill-defined but seems to tickle the mood centers of the brain.)
You weak and corrupt RINO boot lickers like to go along to get along…..all in the interest of “reaching across the isle” (translation: Dems always win, GOP knuckle under and fold) or in the interest of good old Dem-style cronyism. The GOP used to stand for something for a brief time under Reagan, but lost it’s soul during the Bush dynasty and the McCain/Romney twins flash in the pan. We are where we are today because during the Bush years and the Obama years when the Republicans controlled both sides of Congress the gonad-less RINO leaders pitched in with the “progressives” to convert the Republican Party to the new “Democrat-Lite” party. The result: Donald Trump. I do believe that means you are the one that deserves to be wearing the dunce hat.
She’s the most Conservative we could find, if we had a better candidate, they could have challenged her — A lot like Trump.
The time to start for 2018 is now. She gets more liberal by the day. And anyone who thinks her liberal votes in Congress gets her Democrats in November is delusional.
If the 10th GOP actually wanted to put in a more conservative representative, they would have done so. It is absurd to think that a democratic incumbent would be easier to defeat than ‘Congresswoman Goodenough.’
Why would any Republican think moderate votes in Congress will get them Democrat votes when Democrats can vote for a Democrat on the ballot? duh.
We found a more Conservative candidate, Barbara Comstock! She was quite conservative when she ran for Congress.
Even better — a political Harvey Dent! What changed? I wonder if her method of nomination could possibly have affected her philosophical leanings.
