High school SAT scores for Fairfax (blue), Arlington (red), the Loudoun average (black), and Falls Church City (green) are listed below. I have not seen a list of individual schools in Loudoun or Prince William. It’s also interesting to note that the bottom 8 schools in Fairfax are all IB schools. The top schools all have the AP program with the exception of Marshall high school which is an IB school. Since the IB program offers many fewer college credits, it’s a disservice to students who are poor and need those credits to be able to afford college. FCPS thought having the ‘special’ IB program would help to curb white flight at the high minority high schools. It didn’t, and worse, parents could see that the top schools did not want the IB program. No matter, the poorest schools in the county, and those with the lowest student enrollments, got stuck with the European IB program. Great program for those who intend to go to college in Europe but for the poor student in the US, not so much. Liberals love the program but it’s done nothing to help minorities in Fairfax County. FCPS press release on the current SAT Results is here. The results table for the last three years, by race, is here.
