A recent poll conducted by Mason-Dixon polling shows the majority of Virginians believe the $1.2 recent revenue windfall to the state government should be returned to the people who paid it, the taxpayers. By a margin of 59% to 28%, Virginias want their money back. Even in liberal Northern Virginia, they wanted their money returned, 55% to 32%. (The poll oversampled Democrats by 41% to 30% over Republicans.)
Meanwhile, Governor Northam is busy thinking of new ways to spend our money. He has proposed an increase in the state budget of $2.1 billion. He wants to spend even more taxpayers money in addition to the recent windfall. That would mean some taxpayers would pay even higher taxes, even after this $1.2 billion surplus!
