Today, Congresswoman Spanberger expressed what many in her party are feeling. On a democrat Congressional caucus call, 7th district Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger let loose and blasted her party calling Tuesday’s election results a ‘failure’.
On the call Spanberger yelled at her colleagues saying:
We lost races we shouldn’t have lost. Defund police almost cost me my race because of an attack ad. Don’t say socialism ever again. We need to get back to basics.
Spanberger added “If we run this race again we will get f*cking torn apart again in 2022”. Needless to say, Spanberger was very angry. (It doesn’t sound like she’ll be voting for Rep. Nancy Pelosi to continue as Speaker of the House).
As it stands now Republicans have flipped 8 seats in the House, Democrats have flipped two seats, giving Republicans a net gain of 6. Thirty-six seats remain open with many, if not most, of those expected to go to Republicans. If this trend continues, Pelosi’s days as Speaker will be coming to an end in January.
