Today the House voted by a narrow margin to pass the new American Health Care Act. The vote was 217 to 213. Congresswoman Comstock (VA10) was the only Virginia Republican Representative to vote against the bill. Only one member of the House Freedom Caucus voted against the bill, Andy Biggs of Arizona. No Democrats voted for the bill.

[…] Comstock also broke with Republicans when she voted against the American Health Care Act. […]
Barbara’s nay vote is a betrayal to the 10th District no matter what Mick says. She ran against Obamacare in her first campaign. Now that she actually has the opportunity to rip it apart, she is betraying all of us. Total 100% BETRAYAL!!!
If you are a Democrat in the 10th District of Virginia you are never disappointed with Barbara Comstock. Makes you wonder why they bother to run anyone against her.
I called her office two days ago to ask what her specific reasons were for not supporting the bill. The guy who answered the phone mumbled something about preexisting conditions and then said that there were ‘a few other small things about the bill’ that bothered her, but he was evasive and deliberately ignorant and provided me with zero specifics.
Comstock is an absolute coward. All that talk about helping the middle class and small businesses escape the burden of Obamacare was just a lie to get elected. It was the single biggest reason I voted for her.
I won’t waste my time in the next election. She’s just a slick, spineless politician like all the rest. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I mean, really WTF is the point?
I guess that is the reality that as they continue to overdevelop Loudoun and make it more liberal, it will move Comstock leftward as well.
Then she should run as a Democrat. At least with Democrats we know what we’re going to get. With Comstock I voted for a Republican who doesn’t support the conservative platforms she ran on.
Lying Republicans always end up ‘moving left.’ Democrats never move right.
THAT’S the reality.
She’s worried about being reelected in our liberal counties surrounding Washington DC.
They needed to get it going and this is vastly better than the democrat plan 7 years ago; my wife has had to change insur companies several times as they keep leaving Va…like Aetna just announced, that is her insurer; add in 7,000 deduct and triple the monthly payments,it has been a tough the last few years…glad they did it, and senate will add, subtract and divide so it is almost completely modified….it ain’t over yet…just starting, here come negotiations.
Per the Washington Post, she voted FOR the bill.

The Washington Post is wrong.

That’s not what the Post says here, https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/ahca-house-vote/?utm_term=.8a5cfbb8fa87
Different reporters different stories. That speaks volumes about their editors.
She was a nay.

Barbara Comstock, the hero of “the new right”.
What is the ‘new right’?
moderation in all things, unlike the radical right that you cater to
Glad to see we have a new troll here, aka SD
You insult me. I have been here for a while. You mean to tell me you never noticed? That’s harsh
Everyone should thank Barbara Comstock for voting against this horrible bill.
Why is it horrible?
If you have to ask that question, you haven’t been paying attention.
Well aren’t you helpful.

For one, it allows people to choose not to pay for insurance which means the rest of us pick up the tab for these freeloaders’ risk. Typical GOP move making others pay while taking in the benefits
