Someone should keep an eye on what Corey is doing in PWC. This is why he gets no support from conservatives in his backyard. https://sheriffofnottinghampwc.blogspot.com/2017/02/why-would-pwc-bocs-approve-multi.html
At least he is republican. Who runs Fairfax and Arlington? My county is full of gov workers and tons of immigrants. For him to be elected says something.
You keep saying that like it’s true and like that blog should be followed like it’s BD.
Dang, Corey – you lost to “Undecideds”? With a TEA PARTY group?
I knew you’d be in 4th place soon but wow… not against “Undecided”. ??
[…] morning’s Bull Elephant has some rather disappointing results. Not the fact that Riggleman won the Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation poll — far from […]
Only fifty? Good Lord…
So, Shaun Kenney decides to walk across the tracks to my side to stump for the establishment’s own Ed Gillespie? Surprised that you would show up anywhere where honest free speech is tolerated.
“Only fifty”? Well, I guess you didn’t get the populists message last November? But no doubt you did get the message.
So, how much is Ed “sponsoring” you to stump for him? Ed Gillespie’s PAC “sponsored” BD’s upgrade, wonder why? What did Ed get out of it? Where I come from we call that a conflict of interest. What do they call it on your side of the tracks? Success?

You cannot drop the hammer on me in Bull Elephant, because if you could, you already would have. You can no longer complain about my stage name, because you know exactly who I am. Come back again sometime, the fresh air over here will do wonders for you.
Denver for Virginia.
So Corey got beat by “Undecided” among the group that conventional wisdom says would back him most. Interesting. Seems Denver is having an impact.
Long way to June. Also the Tea Party Patriot’s Federation isn’t very representative of the average vote. The average voter would say “Denver Who?”
Since VA has the Blues, the main question we should be asking ourselves when we pick a candidate in the primary is: which one is most likely to beat the Dem candidate. It may boil down to which one has the most name recognition among Joe & Jill Voter.
All very true.
Isn’t it true that the CEO of the power company has actually been Virginia’s real governor for years, with the power company legislative director being Virginia’s Lt. Governor? Is McAuliffe really just like he Queen of England, a ceremonial fixture?
Isn’t it long overdue, that the Virginia taxpayer start actually paying those two for running Virginia? Why shouldn’t they get a state paycheck for their service?
No, it is not true. Terry McAuliffe is the current governor.
I doubt that you have a clue what has and does go on downtown. Not surprised. Or, you condone the corruption, and want to hide it. One can especially see the corruption downtown in this years GA session. At least if they wanted to.
It appears that you support some type of two “union” political system. Both fueled by corporate dollar and special interest money. Both always in direct conflict, both controlled by a crooked media. A media where ratings go up by moving both unions farther from the center. People should join one of the two unions and blindly follow their union over a cliff under your mandate.
To few good jobs, to much “free” media, to much money made by a few on cheap communist Chinese and Mexican labor, (greed) are a few of the prime motivators behind the crooked media. To much money in politics. It’s all connected.
It’s the system we have. I’m not happy about it, but them’s the parameters.
The left has learned that the only way to take control is not just by protest and whining, but has become elected and appointed to positions of influence.
Your options are: A) get involved with the GOP and ‘make it your bitch’ or B) find like-minded, form a TP social club, and pretend to have influence with resolutions, endless meetings, and straw polls while the carcass of your movement is picked apart by the real enemy.
Who is representative? You? Give me a break you will be sitting home swilling your martini and pontificating on what went wrong.
No, no no. Virginia is all Democrat, Virginia’s Republicans are Democrats. We should be asking which candidate can best pull Virginia out the ditch. That would be Denver.
Conventional wisdom doesn’t apply because you guys gave us a primary — you ALL are responsible for the results.
Denver’s impact among 40 self-annointed people in a mutual self-admiration society is hardly a harbinger of the Virginia electorate.
You may have Corey as Governor, Frank as Governor, or Ralph as Governor.
Or just whine on blogs about what could have been.
Steve is not a part of ‘you guys’. He has always been a supporter of conventions.
Yes, we can thank the establishment types on SCC, and Ron Hedlund for the mess we are in.
Frank will never be Governor.
Had we had a conventioni, Gillespie would not have a chance.
Gillespie beat back a conservative challenge at a convention when he wanted to be Senator.
Gillespie also lost when he couldn’t beat back a liberal challenge in the general election.
But that was Senate, and he was the challenger, this will be different, because there is no incumbent and Governor is different than Senator (but not really, cuz it’s statewide we can pretend.)
Neither will Corey.
Steve is part of the SCC, they all collectively bought a primary for us. Our nominating method, because of the actions and behavior of all of its members, is a Primary.
Hatfields vs. McCoys on SCC only indicates it’s dysfunction and need for repealment and replacing.
Each person voting for a primary counts the same as each person voting for a convention. Whether it was Ron Hedlund seeing the corruptibility of the last convention or Dick’s/Mick’s handpicked conservative choice Puneet, or any of the others.
If the best the SCC can do is constantly whipsaw primary/convention, it’s time for a new SCC.
And, only Corey or Frank can get independent/dem crossover to win in November — With a split primary, we might very well get a different Governor Wagnering his finger at the legislature.
I was in attendance at the Virginia Tea Party Federation on Saturday and the Reagan dinner in Culpeper Saturday night. What is not mentioned is the extremely low showing for Ed Gillespie where he realy did poorly. He was at the bottom in both straw polls. Of course this is an earlier indication of the voters. Make no mistake, those pundits that discredit this group make a big error. These are the ones who work the polls, door knock and make calls. Incidentally Corey won the second straw poll with Denver coming in a close second and Ed fell below the undecided. This group was larger than the Tea Party group. I don’t know whether or not anyone has noticed but the public does not trust the establishment and the media. Both the Washington Post and the Richmond Times Dispatch are both in the pocket of establishment politicians. When Ed Gillespie is seen with Rove, the Clintons and the rest of the leftist we take note. I see Denver as winning the Republican primary with Corey coming in second. In the event Gillespie were to win who is going to go out and work the polls, knock doors etc. that is the best way to have another Democrat Governor. Of course the establishment would rather have a Democrat than an so called outsider. Let’s see who blinks.
Thank you for that report.
What is the VTPF and how is it constituted?
Do the 40 in attendance represent other groups?
Good post, exactly. And, just like the money, I’d rather have a Democrat stink it up than Gillespie.
For Ed to dispatch Pope Kenney to BE, damn right Denver has got Ed squirming in his chair.
Denver right now holds all the cards to ANY Republican getting the keys to McAuiliffe’s house. Without total and absolute unity, and lots of prayer, no statewide Republican can win in blue Virginia. And, it will also take a strong Trump performance.
I ain’t voting for establishment Ed under any circumstances. If someone said they would give me $1000 dollars cash to vote for Ed, I would not.
Whatever BD is for, I am against. Without a strong anti-establishment Republican, I will probably stay at home. I will however hold my nose and vote Democrat to stop Ed from being anointed.
You want my vote?
1) Lock up and deport ALL illegals.
2) Bring manufacturing to Virginia.
3) Acknowledge that Virginia should not do business with a communist country were over 23 million abortions are performed each year.

Denver for Virginia.
Judging from the responses on this blog, I am hearing many people that they won’t support the nominee.
Fortunately, it is RINO’s that are whining, and their impact is minimal other than a few more liberty-seeming named organizations.
Never said I won’t support the nominee. I said I won’t support Ed Gillespie. I ain’t a member of no union. My support goes to the best candidate, or, neither candidate.
What you are actually hearing from many people on this blog is that they will not support the establishment.
Good point, you are right, it will be moot when Corey is the nominee.
Establishment, like grassroots is a fluffy concept. I am part of the GOP Establishment , extremely grassrooty (to the point of populism) yet probably more to the right of anyone on this blog.
If Corey is voted away by delicate flower Republicans, or the Dems get bored with their primary and elect Ed their dream opponent, or if no one shows up on Primary day cinching Denver’s nomination, I’ll support each of them as MY nominee.
Hell, I’ll even support Frank the Tank as foolish conservatives flee the falling vote splits.
A weak GOP only benefits the left.
Its already a two man race. Two statesmen have one thing in common.. No prior office.
