RPV Chairman Rich Anderson

Rich Anderson to step down as RPV Chairman for Trump appointment

written by Jeanine Martin March 11, 2025

Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia, Rich Anderson, is stepping down to accept President Trump’s appointment as assistant secretary of the Air Force at the Pentagon. Anderson retired from the Air Force in 2009 as a Colonel.

Chairman Anderson then served 4 terms as a Delegate representing Virginia’s 51st district, losing to Democrat Hala Ayala in 2017 in a “blue wave”.

RPV’s First Vice Chair, Kristi Way, will take over as interim Chair when Anderson steps down, until the state central committee meets on April 12th in Richmond and elects a new Chairman.

A statement from Chairman Anderson is expected soon.

More on the story here.
