Riggleman leads straw poll at Tea Party Federation summit

written by Guest Contributor Susan Lascolette February 26, 2017

The Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation met Saturday for their quarterly summit in Richmond, VA. The day was filled with some interesting speakers, especially members relaying how they were successful in such endeavors as defeating light rail, stopping a tax-payer funded baseball stadium, and engineering a “No” vote on a meals tax referendum.

In order to get a sense of the attendee’s support of the top-of-the-ticket candidates, a straw poll was conducted and the results are interesting.  Note that this is a snap shot and the poll was informal and unscientific and the results do not constitute an endorsement of any candidate by the state-wide tea party federation.

Governor

38%    Denver Riggleman
26%    Ed Gillespie
22%    Undecided/uncommitted
14%    Corey Stewart
0%      Frank Wagner

Lt. Governor

39%    Undecided/uncommitted
33%    Bryce Reeves
24%    Jill Vogel
4%      Glenn Davis

Attorney General

19%    Undecided/uncommitted
16%    Chuck Smith

All of the candidates have committed to appear in a town hall sponsored by the Virginia Tea Party Federation in conjunction with several conservative youth groups to be held on April 22, 2017 at 1:00 at Goochland High School, 3250 River Road West, Goochland, VA.
