The state Senate has voted to defeat Senator Black’s bill to ban in-state tuition for illegal immigrants.  Senate Bill 722 was defeated by a vote of 20 to 19.  We do not yet know which Republicans voted against the bill but will print the information as soon as it becomes available.
UPDATE: According to the Richmond Times Dispatch, Jill Vogel walked out on the vote and John Watkins (claims-to-be R-Powhatan)voted against the bill, making him the 20th vote along with all the democrats.

I never thought it would pass but also a reminder why the senator needs to retire.
Of course! Because a Senator putting in a bill to require Virginia to follow the law when dealing with people who are in this country illegally is a sure sign that he needs to go. Why would we ever want a Senator who doesn’t just talk about standing up for what is right, but actually takes action to make things right??
Go away troll.
