Do you just repost stories with no comment? Where’s the value added?
The problem is not so much with those who make these demands, as crazy as they are, it is with those in power who quickly run lemming-like off the bridge.
Good.
Regardless of what you believe the Confederate battle flag
or its image symbolizes, I don’t believe a single tragedy perpetrated by one disturbed young man should become the basis for a national referendum on a prominent symbol of great historical significance. Anyone who doesn’t agree with this should ask themselves one question to put this issue into perspective: If the next terrorist who murders innocent people is found to have prominently displayed the US Flag on his website, would it be appropriate for people to call for the US Flag’s removal from public display; or merchants to top selling items with its image on them?!
Our Constitution grants everyone the freedom of speech, expression, etc. — not the freedom from being offended. Many, if not most, people don’t even believe the Confederate flag truly represents slavery! Furthermore, I personally believe this issue is being used by a small group of Progressives and their groups to further marginalize “the South” — which, if you look at maps of “the bible belt”, are pretty much one and the same. If you are marginalizing the South, you are also marginalizing a lot of American family tradition, including guns and religion. I don’t think this is a coincidence!!

Are the anti-flag people going to demand that Egypt remove its pyramids because they are symbols of their slave era?
And will history books be burned?
That’s what I fear, our history being destroyed.
You have nothing to worry about, regardless of your paranoia.
