On Wednesday we wrote about today’s agenda for today’s State Central Committee meeting. On that agenda was an item to change the committees’ previous two votes for a convention (to nominate this year’s statewide candidates) to a primary.
SCC voted to remove that item from the agenda by a vote of 45 to 35. Republicans will have a convention this year. (This is the third vote on the subject and we hope it’s the last.)
The committee hopes to amended the Virginia Republican Party Plan so this year’s convention can be an unassembled convention because of COVID-19.
More on today’s State Central meeting later today/evening.
