As previously reported, Ted Cruz’s campaign had tapped Sen. Bill Stanley (R-Franklin), as well as Shak Hill and Cynthia Dunbar, to lead their effort in Virginia.

I have been in favor of Senator Cruz for the Presidency ever since he announced his decision to run for that office in 2016. He is a proven conservative who fights for our values and has earned the right to run for the Presidency so that he may follow through on repealing the train wrwck that is Obamacare and help our ailing economy back onto th right track. I pray he wins next year – America has never needed that patriot more in the oval office!
Steve,
Just curious what Shak Hill brings to the Cruz campaign? He has according to his FEC report over $100,000 in outstanding loans from his last run for office, hardly a conservative value. I guess if you run for office and lose your election you now are considered a asset to a campaign.
Surely there are plenty of military veterans to chose from as well within the Republican Party.
I don’t believe Shak Hill is his real name from what I am hearing. He had a totally different name at one time.
I can understand Shak’s desire to remain relevant and by being involved in a presidential campaign he also has access to a larger database of voters for his own run for office.
Just asking!
Shak is an honorable man, his bio is well-known and this comment is shameful.
BTW, here’s the scoop on his name from the Examiner:
“First, he explained that his unusual first name, Shak, is a shortened version of his mother’s maiden name, Wayshak, which became his given name.
“A long time ago, my great grandfather immigrated from Damascus, Syria, so the name Wayshak has a Syrian derivation to it,†he explained.”
You tried to imply some crookedness about his name, to your own discredit.
Not to spoil anyone’s Thanksgiving eve or to rain on this “distinguished” group’s Virginia grassroots endorsements, but if you choose to believe the recently conducted Economist/YouGov poll of November 19 – 23, 2015, with a margin of error of ±3.1%, Donald Trump leads both Rubio and Cruz head to head by double digits, creating a rather large round hole in the oft repeated last man standing against Trump will somehow be the nominee scenario. Granted a lot can happen between how and the convention in Cleveland but these numbers today say they’re kidding themselves (i.e. Cruz and Rubio) if they believe any faltering is appearing in the Trump juggernaut to date, despite numerous predictions from both establishment and conservative partisans claiming otherwise. It seems a likely possibility to me we may end up with none of the three able to clinch a majority before the convention by either delegate vote and/or convention rule 40 and a brokered convention between Rubio, Cruz and Trump is in the cards, with Carson fading down the stretch. If so Trump will likely be holding the strongest hand and a VP slot for Cruz would put the establishment’s final hopes for Rubio to the sword. Depending on the reactions of the GOP establishment to any such outcome could well hang the future of the Republican Party. A little histrionic I readily admit but we will all see soon enough. I ask my fellow constitutionalists and libertarians to book an early seat to Cleveland as it should be a true event in the history of the party. A Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Yes, I too would love libertarian and constitutionalists to look closely into these candidates.
Looks like an appropriate list of like-minded individuals.
Who know, understand, and are aware of the Constitution and its foundations and how it is the supreme law of the land… Against all enemies foreign and domestic I believe some have sworn an oath!
A very notable list indeed. Congratulations to Senator Cruz on garnering great support in the Commonwealth.
Ditto, a Constitutionally valid Senator indeed!
That is a great list of awesome Conservatives. Ted Cruz is my candidate. He is an excellent speaker and has our Conservative views. Suzanne Curren and I got about 600 signatures for Ted Cruz to get on the ballot in the 6th District. The 6th District got about 1000 signatures and came in 2nd in the State for getting signatures.
Way to go, Laura. You’re the greatest 🙂
The more I see and hear of Trump, Carson, and Rubio, the more I like Cruz. He is brilliant, passionate, and articulate. During normalcy, Cruz would be considered too conservative to win over the center, but the good news for us is Hillary Clinton being a flawed and poor candidate.
I’m glad you are seeing the integrity of Ted. My difference with your statement is the part about the times of normalcy. I think that a majority of Americans, let me rephrase, actual US Citizens when presented with a conservative view would identify with Mr. Cruz as well. You are right though, the fact that the US is going crazy and the rest of the world is on fire doesn’t hurt his position.
Clearly Cruz has the support of the Conservative wing of the party (as apposed to all those republicans in name only that misuse the term conservative). I know about 25% of the list personally, and they will pull far more than their own weight. There are a few more heavyweights that should be there though.
A regular Stampede of support! How appropriate.
I see what you did there.
You guys are great, thanks for indulging and encouraging participation. I’ll hold off as long as I can.
We encourage and enjoy participation in our blog. We’re happy to have you here! Thanks for sharing your opinions.
You might want to insert another retired under Dr. Berg’s credentials above.
One correction. Senator Stanley isn’t from Augusta County nor does he represent it.
Yes…duh. Corrected. Thanks.
I have to say, that’s an incredible list…
Pretty impressive.
Well look a there, I made the list! #imacruzer
