Earlier today Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz came to Virginia to address a small group of Republican activists from around the state. In an informal setting, where no question was off limits, Cruz addressed a very wide variety of topics. He never stumbled, never faltered, and proved to everyone that his conservative credentials run deep and wide.
Cruz began by comparing the current time to the late 1970’s when and things were falling apart around the world and domestically, thanks to a feckless President Carter. Today we are on a precipice much like we were then. The nation turned to Ronald Reagan and the Reagan Revolution begin to turn things around for country and the rest of the world. That’s exactly where we are now. We are approaching that kind of Revolution today. Senator Cruz is a conservative who can lead that Revolution.
Senator Cruz talked a great deal about all the burdensome regulations we have in our country today. He said a good bumper sticker for Republicans would be “Republicans—We Waste Less”. He would change that! He will shrink the entire body of government and he will put people in place who share that vision.
He went on to talk foreign policy and the fact that neither President Obama or Hillary Clinton will even say the words “Radical Islamic Terrorists”! Obama’s greatest failure has been in protecting our national security. Our national security should define our foreign policy and it hasn’t. A Cruz President will destroy ISIS and protect the US. We can do that with massive airstrikes.
Three things make for a winning campaign, a strong message, grassroots’ support and money. Cruz has all three. Cruz grassroots supporters have gathered 10,000 signatures in Virginia, twice the number required. He has district coordinators in every district of all the states that vote on or before March 15. Grassroots support for Cruz is growing. At a Freedom Works conference in Florida (the home of candidates Bush and Rubio) their straw poll showed Cruz far ahead of the other candidates. He won with 42% of the vote. Carson was second with 12% and all other candidates were in the single digits. A similar thing happened in the Value Voter’s poll. Cruz won with 35% of the voted followed by Carson with 18%. Trump was in single digits in both polls.
A President Cruz would do away with the Department of Education and Common Core and send that money back to the states. Of all government agencies, Cruz considers the EPA to be the most abusive. Too many regulations! Cruz considers Obama to be the most lawless President in our history.
Two things Cruz would do immediately as President:
“Repeal every single word of Obamacare” and
“Abolish the IRS and establish flat tax that would destroy the power of Washington.”
Sounds good to me! Everything Cruz said sounded good to me. It would be difficult to be a conservative and not agree with and support Ted Cruz for President.

Cruz for President 2016 ..
Nope. He supported the TPA. Watch him say so —

Love Ted Cruz! I’m so glad he came to VA.
Lots of respect for Sen. Cruz, but I’m with Sen. Paul.
does he get TBE endorsement?
How do women view Cruz?
RR: I can only speak for myself. His extreme social conservatism turns me off.
According to Erick Erickson and the data he has been collecting, Cruz is doing well with women, Social Conservative and not.

i can’t see him beating Hillary.
Won’t know until he tries. If he gets that far, he’s still got Trump, Carson(my candidate) and Rubio to get past.
Who can you see beating Hilary?
who can get the young + minority vote? to answer your question, I am not sure we have anyone that can beat her if she 1: remains healthy & 2: remains out of jail.
I’m sure we do. Her record is a piece of swiss cheese for all the holes it has in it.
Part of the reason Joe Biden was picking up steam is become Hilary’s support is a lot shallower than it looks.
And she is losing traditional Democrat support as well. An example for you, have you checked out her polling with men? Because of her “I am woman it’s sexist not vote for me” spiel she has a rather lagging showing among Democrat and Independent men.
here’s my opinion. minorities will vote for her. young people will vote for her. if she can peel off just enough white voters in the older demographics, she can win. or at least this will be how she can win Virginia. I hope I am wrong
Her lead among women is contrasted with her deficit among white men, according to the last polls on that she is actually running a net voter negative because her support among women isn’t enough to cover her lack of support among men.
Women are the majority of voters by a few points, lose a few points among men and she is in trouble.
Young people aren’t all that enthused by her. Republican groups found out that her “support” is being exaggerated by her campaign and that few millennials are showing up to her events.
Given how PC college campus’s and their “War on Women” routine is, that should be very alarming to her supporters that she isn’t gaining overwhelmingly substantial support among young voters.
Minority support for her counts on our candidate being the boring white guy. Carson, Cruz, Rubio, and Fiorina aren’t that. Any of them get the nomination, and if the VP pick is a smart one, a woman for Carson, Cruz, or Rubio, and a candidate that can do good minority outreach for Fiorina, and Hillary’s very few good points are negated.
As I said, Biden wouldn’t have gotten anywhere if Hillary wasn’t weak. Democrats are going to play with the quarterback they have and hope that enough PR proclaiming her as unstoppable will stop people from looking at the data showing she is vulnerable in a ton of areas.
Great comment. On target.
Thanks!
I just read today that Hillary is not doing well with young people. Young people like Bernie far more than Hillary. She’s not polling well with young people and men.
I can! He would run circles around her in a debate. Just ask Alan Dershowitz, http://dailycaller.com/2013/05/09/dershowitz-tex-cruz-one-of-harvard-laws-smartest-students/ Cruz is brilliant. I would pay a lot to see Hillary and Cruz debate.
that’s a big difference between you and me. I would watch it on TV for free.
But far preferable to Hillary, right?
What social conservatism is that? I heard him speak for an hour yesterday and he never mentioned any social issues. Never said anything about gays or abortion which what I assume you mean when you say ‘extreme social conservatism’.
Google his evangelical comments. Also he was all for Kim Davis. Try googling his father Rafael
I don’t really care about his father, nor will the nation. Joseph Kennedy was a crook and philanderer, and no one cared, the nation loved his boys. Don’t care about Cruz’s religion either.
but his father is campaigning for him, often speaking as a surrogate. He claims that homosexuals want to legalize pedophilia. Ted Cruz references his born again father with pride. Jeanine, this will not play well in swing areas.
That’s nice but I’ve never heard of his father and I doubt 98% of other Americans haven’t either. Again, no one pays attention to parents of candidates. Cruz can be proud of his father without agreeing with everything he says.
Who are you supporting for President? Bush or Kasich?
Who is Kim Davis?
Kentucky clerk due in court over gay marriage boycott
Gee, I had already forgotten about her. A year from now I bet most Americans will have too.
Judging by some of the social conservatives on his list from Va not good at all.
