With 351,611 residents Loudoun county makes up the largest part of the 10th Congressional district. The largest newspaper in the county is the Loudoun Times-Mirror. They have endorsed Barbara Comstock for Congress saying,[read_more]
A study by Brookings affirms that the ideological distance between the parties has returned to lows not seen since the end of the 19th century. Congress is heading in the wrong direction at a time when we most need its leadership. It desperately needs leaders who will stop drawing lines in the sand, will stand up to party demagogues and will put the national interest first.
That is Barbara Comstock’s ticket for our endorsement. In her interview with the Times-Mirror editorial board, Comstock moved beyond touting herself as the polished, political operative. Rather, she cited assets and resources in Northern Virginia as solutions that Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservative alike could embrace in non-partisan decisions. Comstock suggested that she could facilitate agreements around these assets from the state’s technology and business communities, as well as its universities.
Comstock’s support for and focus on jobs and the economy has earned her the support of job creators and business leaders. Legislation she sponsored in the House of Delegates provided tax incentives for data centers and for research and development. Additionally, she sponsored legislation extending the Capital Gains Tax Exemption and the Telework Tax Credit.

The paper also endorsed Mark Warner, in the same article Why did you leave out this critical piece of data? If you are going to write credible articles, you might want to consider including all the facts. As it is, your writing is easily recognized as overtl political hacking; your motives and hate for all things not GOP are quite transparent; and your messages quickly dilute in your partisan rhetoric.
Uh, maybe she left it out because she wanted to concentrate on a race that is local to her? One that is more hotly contested and interesting? Did it ever occur to you that this is not a newspaper site but an opinion site, where the authors are under no obligation to present all sides and/or remain objective?
Yes, this site is partisan. Jeanine is partisan. So are sites like National Review, Slate, Daily Kos, etc. If you want a newspaper go elsewhere.
Wrong, wrong. wrong. Of course this site is biased. My point is that if the endorsement is such a big deal, then it is a big deal for both endorsed candidates, even the guy you hate. I realize that J-gal only posts what she wants. That does not mean I can’t point out her inconsistencies
Yes. The Loudoun Times-Mirror endorsed Comstock. And it endorsed Warner. From where I sit, I was of the opinion that they could have endorsed Foust. The fact that they haven’t is quite significant from where I sit.
Barbara Comstock is my type of Republican. She has provided the game plan for others to achieve victory.
