If you want to avoid being ‘tricked’ on Halloween, don’t give out candy that has coconut or licorice. Kids don’t like either. Forget Necco wafers and taffy, terrible stuff. Ditto Mary Janes and Candy Corn. Does anyone really like Candy Corn? Do not give out toothbrushes (even if you’re a dentist) or pencils, although pencils along with candy can be great political advertising for local politicians. Don’t give kids Hot Tamales or Fireballs, too many kids don’t like them.
