Ms. Espenscheid is a remarkable speaker worth the listen.
This is really a very helpful video. Substantive.
We should support free trade, but this deal looks like it changes the very structure of things. This “living agreement” with the power to strong-arm the United States to comply with other countries’ values (such as, for example, infringement of free speech, etc) is most concerning to me. If they can sanction and bully United States entities, including individual states, cities, or businesses, with the force of international law via the WTO and on pain of huge financial penalties and sanctions – I think this is really a big problem.
Yet, if TAA passes, the deal will go through without amendment, President Obama will sign it, and we’ll be stuck and bound as a nation to this first-ever-in-American-history evolving trade agreement.
Glad that you liked it. Please share it! We need to educate people.
