Bad news for Conservatives, Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) will not run again but will retire at the end of this term. Congressman John Fleming, R-LA, announced Gowdy’s retirement on C-Span on Wednesday morning,
“Trey wants to go back to South Carolina, and God bless him for that,”
“At the end of his term, yes,” he said. “He plans to go back home, and he wants to finish his work on the Benghazi special committee. But he loves South Carolina and he loves his family, and he wants to go back and spend the rest of his life there.”
Fleming said other Republicans had been told of Gowdy’s retirement but Gowdy’s office downplayed it and said they hadn’t yet made an announcement. Sounds like Fleming is right but he probably shouldn’t have announced it.

Naw, he’s seeing a governorship position opening up. Then if the cards are right, it’s back to DC for the big prize.
I wouldn’t mind that at all. He didn’t do as much as I’d have liked on the Benghazi committee, but I think he’d be a good governor.
President on the other hand… that would depend on how Conservative a governor he’d have been.
Although, if he was running for President, he’d desperately need to get a new haircut. I’m just saying.
Which one of these styles do you prefer? https://www.google.com/search?q=trey+gowdy+hair&espv=2&biw=1309&bih=660&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi4tp6JgIrLAhUHyj4KHX1PBOoQ_AUIBigB He’s had many different hair styles and hair colors. Just sayin’………
Gah! None of them! That man needs to get a new barber.
I agree but he seems to like these crazy hairstyles!
NOT bad news for conservatives. Gowdy was all bluster with essentially zero results. I’d be open to seeing his list of conservative accomplishments…perhaps I’m just not aware.
He may have actually been hurting conservatives, because others may not have engaged because they thought he had things “under control”, when in fact it was all show, no go.
One day, I hope you see a trend here.
