Despite Donald Trump’s numerous gaffes, in a SuffolkUniversity/USA Today Poll released today, The Donald is once again number one among the Republican field of candidates.[read_more] One thousand Republicans and Republican leaning Independents were polled. Among Republicans and those independents who are likely to vote in a Republican primary, Trump was the first choice of 17% of those polled. Jeb Bush was second with 14%, Scott Walker 8%, Ted Cruz 6%, Marco Rubio 5%, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee and Rand Paul at 4%, Chris Christie at 3% and all the other candidates at less than 2%.
Voters who identified as Conservative or Very Conservative preferred Trump over Bush by 17% to 11%.
Hillary easily beat the field of Republican candidates, beating Trump by a whopping 17%, 51% to 34%.
