Under Obama 85 of 98 State Legislative Bodies have Become More Republican

GROWTH IN GOP RANKS AT THE STATE LEVEL. One of the reasons the Democrats have such a shallow bench in their quest for President is because nearly all of the state legislatures have moved more to the right under President Obama. Since Obama became President every state senate has moved to the right and almost every one of the lower houses has too.  In half of the states, the GOP controls both legislative houses and the Governorship.  In Virginia, our Senate has become 5% more Republican and the House has moved 14% to the right.
